Don't listen to these comments. They obviously never had one or have them connected to their suitcase Crosley or playing YouTube music on their TV. I've had much more expensive speakers (KEF, Wharfedale, Martin Logan), and I can safely say the 809s are brilliant when set up with the right system. I have them connected to an RT85, Cambridge preamp, Wiim Ultra (with room correction), bta20 pro with 48v GAN along with a $99 Jamo 810 sub. The sound is absolutely incredible. You don't even need all this to get an amazing sound. Just a Wiim Pro, bta20 pro and the 809s and stream lossless music. For $500-$600 you'll have smthn that rivals much more expensive setups.

Just a meh speaker and not worth at $200. It will leave you wanting more and worse, causes frustration with its inability to produce decent sound
Then name a pair of new floor standing speakers + free shipping with better sound for less than $200 please!

Very likely didn't properly set them up(common issue).
When you do, they can offer a lot of value for the cost.
Especially if you use a sub(s).

You add a pair of s803 for $99, very good budget setup.

The matching center is the weak spot but for the sale price, it's good enough ime.

Here are the dimensions:
10-1/8"W x 41-1/2"H x 10-9/16"D.

If they are too small, as much as people like to complain about WAF, that might be a good thing for some.

I agree!

I have my Class room/Theater setup in a large room in the basement which has a mix of Cerwin Vega's as the primary Left and Right Channels with klipsch center and surround Channels. My secondary viewing room (about 20 x 20) has the 809's for fronts, 803's for surround and a 83 for center channel. Both have Monoprice and Klipsch subwoofers, with the Theater having both.

The Secondary viewing area is very nice for the value, especially if you get them on sale like this.

There are soundbars more expensive than you can get a complete set of these when on sale as a package or as pieces when on sale like this.

Is this going to be anything like the Dominator MX, never going to happen. But hopefully you will not have to f#$king finance them, as they are Craigslist price range without having to deal the people.

I have set this up in many homes as a budget theater system. Very decent at this price point.

What's better value, these at $200 or Klipsch rf82 II used for $400 for the pair in excellent condition?

This is an extraordinarily bad take. Nothing on the market can touch these for $200 with free shipping. Don't be snobby. Are they the speakers for me, no. Would they be great for a college kid wanting to get started with something? Absolutely!

I bought the entire set, haven't seen them up yet. It comes with the tower speakers, sub, bookcase speakers, Dolby atmos side speakers, center speaker. Any recommendations on a receiver? I was thinking maybe a Denon AVR-X2800H 7.2 Ch Stereo Receive. Any thoughts?

Can anybody offer firsthand experience comparison with a pair of Edifier 1280DBs? Lateral, down, or upgrade?
