Editing to ad I just noticed your comment about reviews, the reviews I've seen are pretty horrendous. I was going to buy one before reading them.
Price looks great, but I'd definitely want to know the real capacity and battery type before trusting this for anything important.
Okay, this made me want to check.
They did not just buy the 'naming rights', Ninebot (founded 2012 by engineers) bought the company Segway.
It appears that Ninebot holds around 10 related patents in the US including an original design for a single-wheeled balanced vehicle.
Across these, their patent footprint is heavily concentrated original patents regarding micromobility and small EV form factors: balance vehicles, scooters, compact EVs, and related components, usually co‑invented with Ninebot engineers and assigned to various Ninebot companies.
So, it goes way deeper than 'slapping a name on it'.

Dont know why they dont advertise this as a UPS, but in the manual there is a UPS setting that you can enable or disable. Maybe it doesnt have the best switchover time?
