I use the Costco app to check the warehouse price. Don't check from the main page of the app. Tap on the warehouse icon on the bottom. Make sure it is set to your warehouse and then use the "search warehouse inventory" box.

Definitely download the soundcore app, so that you can set a custom EQ to your liking. IMO, the default EQ isn't that great.

Once you install the soundcore app, you can load custom EQs from other people. This reddit has a whole bunch and worth adding, you can switch on the fly in the app and see if any of them suit your preference.

While the Boom v2 is the same as the Boom 2 hardware wise, the app considers them as different models, so the Costco Boom v2 will only accept v2 custom EQs. If you try to add a regular Boom 2 custom EQ, you won't be able to.

Every BT speaker needs to be adjusted and should have an EQ, which many don't.The (Anker) Boom 2 is considered one of the best BT speakers in the market, and the custom EQ is really thorough and there's enthusiasts on the forums that share their EQ profiles to make it shine appropriatelyFWIW, I had two Bose $400 Soundlink Max's in stereo and that had to be EQ'd as well, and while they sounded very good as well, it's definitely in the same "musicality realm" as this $40 Boom 2!... At 10x less the cost! Remember folks, all this equipment is bluetooth -- not audiophile! No one should ever think otherwise. But you can get good pleasing sound out of them for the beach and backyard or desk and the Boom 2 hits enough checkboxes to cover most home user's needs very well!
I can guarantee in a blind test you can't tell what sound coming from Bluetooth or a toslink connection.

I also bad a pair of the Bose Soundlink Max speakers for comparison to these $40 Soundcore speakers. I was able to do a direct A/B comparison in stereo mode. To my astonishment, and disappointment, the Bose sounded worse no matter how I attempted to adjust the EQ. The Soundcores sounded full and enveloping, while the Boses sounded like missing the middle tone or something and the equalizer did not help. Furthermore, the Soundcores were able to maintain the stereo pairing after turning off and on, while the Bose would require enabling stereo mode everything single time when they are turned on.

Warehouse by me has it for $40, but is out of stock. If I go to another warehouse that has it in stock for $50, can I buy it from the in stock warehouse, return it to the out of stock warehouse and then re-buy for $40?

I think you can only do a return at the return counter, but im not sure about re-buying.

For anyone in the Denver area:

SW COSTCO
7900 W Quincy Ave, Littleton, CO 80123

Still has four on the shelf as of this morning I grabbed two for myself and one piece of cardboard had one at the very back of it so when I lifted it to grab a couple, it fell behind everything so it'll be a quite an effort to try and get it! Looks like this is the only store left that has any. When you go and stay to your left and go to the back wall and you'll see the display. Thanks OP!
