I was browsing at a local walmart and saw a roll back price of $130. I scanned the qr code using walmart app and it also showed the store price. The link is for a reference only.

Good to see some Ryzen cpus finally being sold for what they're worth. This should be the regular price for a six core cpu...

About thaaaaat. "AMD plans to raise CPU prices by up to 15% starting late March, following Intel's similar increase, amid high demand for server chips and ongoing DRAM shortages."
Read more: https://www.tweaktown.com/news/11...index.html.
Also there appears to be a looming shortage to go along with that announcement.

Basically they plan on shifting available fabrication to meet server demand and reduce the amount of chips on the consumer supply demand while simultaneously increasing prices.

Actually AMD and Intel just announced that CPU prices will rise about 10 - 15% in April.

I'm pretty sure there are more Microcenter stores in the country than there are Walmarts that sell individual CPUs

I m pretty sure you are wrong. Cause I got like 6 walmarts in like a 30 miles radius who sell computer parts. Including GPU's, CPU's, Motherboards, Ram and SSD's

Must be regional, I've been to many and have only seen storage drives and whole systems

None of the walmarts in my REGION sell pc parts. I saw a video card randomly at a walmart 200 miles way. I have NEVER seen a processor in a walmart. If someone returned it and they put it out, that's the only chance. Their inventory system is the most unreliable thing as well.

Would you mind sharing your region? I plugged in several regions in walmart.com for "intel cpu" and "amd cpu" and could not find any in store anywhere.
