Anyone know details on the battery size/type?

Or if not real life experience with this outside? Can you get a solid 6 hours of use from it charging in full sun during the day? Do they last/work at all in the winter in cold climates?

We have a similar one and it did work in the winter on sunny days. It lasts 4-5 hours for us.

bought these during the previous sale. product images make it look like they will light up your patio but they are not that bright. may be best if you just want some dim lighting on your fence

Serious answer- yes.If you have solar panel lights that is the first thing you. The whole string wasnt dead but there were several bulbs that didnt light and yes I checked if they were loose. Ive had these before with no problems but the two I recently bought were DOA and returned.

I purchased 4 boxes for the summer. I like that the bulbs are shatterproof. I took all of them out and left the panels in the sun and all of them work. There's also a place you can charge them with a usb plug if you needed to. A usb plug doesn't come with them. Inside the box there's also a giant plastic clip that you could secure the panel to a roof edge, zip ties, a remote controller, and a ground stake.
