not a terrible price for today's situation. it was nice when the 2TB was selling for under $150 though.

does the 2tb model still include a 3 month game pass ultimate code?
that would make the price bearable

I think it is a perfect storm of the AI boom gobbling up solid state memory (among other tech components), inflation, and tariffs.

I think that was a one-time Best Buy anomaly.

Is this actually considered a good price now? Holy hell I bought the 1tb one in Jan for $120 and that was regular price at the time.

Can you rip it open to get an nvme drive (looks like the smaller kind of nvme)?

The Seagate models aren't so I doubt these would be.

Bummer, I think it'll get more use outside of being a proprietary drive for Xbox now that Xbox as a brand is dead.

And before anyone says Xbox is coming back / not dead, they had YEARS to fix the mess that Don Mattrick made... only to find out they screw it up even more and also finding out Sarah Bond was (allegedly) the one that did that stupid "This is an Xbox" campaign. I have doubts the new person can save the brand.

And even if it did come back, I'll probably be a Windows PC disguised as an Xbox and new console will cost $1000+ (and yes, Sony's Playstation might get that price too with how things are going with that as well).

You're correct. Xbox is the new Playboy. I have to wonder if they hired Christie Hefner no run the brand into the ground the same way she did playboy. Microsoft is following her play book. License out all of your IPs and brand logo for anything and everything. Like xbox toasters, shity drink "refrigerators", fanta soda collaboration.

I thought Microsoft had stated the new Xbox will be a windows PC in a stupid case.

The games stuidos are all going to be sunset. Eventual they'll be Ai generated with very few people trying to polish the Ai turds.

It was months ago and the previous "regular sale" price for the 2TB was around $180 so $150 was a reasonable price, not a price error. I was even able to buy it.
