I thought Ego was the ticket but with more dead batteries in my garage than good ones and very little support from them, I can't recommend the brand.

Got the deal last week at Lowe's. Came with extra 5 ah battery, which I returned for $230 back, then bought 715 cfm blower which comes with 5 ah battery and charger and an extra 2.5 ah battery for 330, then returned that battery for 105 back. You end up with the same deal, but with the blower and an extra charger for 7 dollars more.
I was waiting to see this on Slickdeals to prove it's still worthwhile. Clearly it's just bots these days.

I've had my EGO systems now for about 9 years. All my original batteries still with although went diminished capabilities, the nature of batteries. But they still hold a charge and allow me to use them. Make sure that you do a reset on your batteries because at one point in time I thought two of mine were dead and once I reset the battery it worked just fine. And that was about 3 years ago. Good luck.

Lowe's says the sale ends on April 8. Does anyone know if the sale will end on that date at Amazon and Ace as well?

I was hoping to wait a bit longer before purchasing, but before the free battery promo ends on 5/31.

I went all in on ego. Mower, blower, trimmer, snow blower. It's just ok. Gas still wins when it comes to performance.
It depends on the model. More $$, better performance. If I had to guess, you don't have the highest and latest models. They would blow your mind but I wouldn't pay their price. lol

The main reason shortens the battery life is that most people improperly charge the batteries right after using them. It should be cool down before the next charging. The best way is to have a spare battery for the rotation to keep your work while waiting for battery cooling down and recharging.

Folks, going battery on your weed whipper is feasible. Stick with gas for your mower. They're both more durable and cheaper to operate.
I agree. I bought an ego mower a couple years ago. As long as you cut DRY grass every 4 days before it is more than 1/4" being cut you are fine. Mine stays in eco mode too long, and when it finally realizes it is struggling and ramps the speed up, im at the end of my row and turning around. I am actively looking for a 2nd hand gas mower to augment. It won't lift any leaves or tiny sticks off the ground. It sucks that it doesn't suck anything up.

If the mower has a 5-year warranty and the battery has a 3-year warranty, why would anyone need the 2- or 3-year protection plan offered at Amazon or Lowe's?
I have a butt load of Ego stuff. Their warranties are full of very fine print and limitations. Out of the multi year warranty some parts are only covered 90 days or 6 months on many tools. So the extended warranty covers what Ego's claimed warranty should have covered but doesn't. Ego makes great products. But you don't know a company and its products fully until something goes wrong. Some companies will make good will exceptions if its outside of the 90 day warranty by three seconds. Ego will never make an exception.
So if there is a problem report it instantly. And don't forget your receipt. And don't forget to register your product with them. Ego in the end is a large company, and they for the most part don't care as far as customer service after the sale goes.
The good news is that they are getting some competition from Ryobi and Milwaukee and Greenworks. This might improve customer service if they feel enough pain from lost sales and negative reviews. Would I buy more stuff from them, sure. Would I count on their warranty, not in my experience. But we can always get lucky, right.

Just did curbside pick up and tried to return the battery. I generated the return barcode for the battery using the app. They didn't accept the return because they said it was part of a set. Anyone else run into the same issue?

Did it show $241 on your original purchase receipt?

I'm the opposite.. I haven't har any issues. This mower and batteries have done great for 3 years now. Only downside is the mower cuts off if the grass is damp or grass is really thick and clumps up inside.
you need to sharpen the blades. I do that every other mowing.

I paid $50 less for the same mower 5 years ago…without the extra battery. For the extra $50 I would buy this bundle in a heartbeat—but I have no use for a second mower. 😂
