I was looking at the 4 bay DAS that hit the frontpage when I saw the 5 Bay version that supports RAID is also on sale and a better fit for me.

It is $149.98 and according to CCC the lowest price it has been. For those that want the use RAID, I think this is a better option than the 4 bay on the Front Page.

Nice price. I didn't like the hardware raid idea but this would do great with Mac native software raid

I purchased the 9958C3 last year. It was a total disaster. I installed various new drives and the DAS would give errors. It would detect the driver then the lose connection. I contacted Orico and they eventually refunded my money. A lot of wasted time and potential loss of data. Just my two cents.

Anyone know if something like this would support JBOD? I'm just not not sure what the max storage capacity something like this could hold...

I went back to using my old single bay docking station. I ended up buying a cheap 2 bay NAS instead. I've read good things about Terramaster DAS. Maybe look into that brand.

it seems there are many options availabe on amazon that are on the same price range, and have been reviewed better by more reviewers.
