Arg, the sale for the Quad is over but the Dual is still $69.99. The Quad is the best value at $79.99 and it was $10 less a few days before I bought my set.
My condolences to those of you that missed the Typhur quad for $70. Though, Amazon does show it has gone to $168 four times in the last 90 days. $168 is also when they had the coupon that dropped it down to $70. Personally, I would likely wait for another sale and wouldn't spend over $100 for any branded quad. Especially with how unlikely all 4 would be used at the same time.
The Typhur may looks more premium but I cannot figure out the logic of using a touch control, am I along? I always wear gloves when I grill.
That's a very valid point and I wasn't thinking about it when I ordered. I have the cousin Themomaven G1 with only one probe and wanted the 4 probes unit when I ordered.
Everything is in app so I guess I will only need to touch the screen on the unit is to turn on/off the unit.

From what I understand, it's an upgraded version of the P4 in that it has the "Sub 1G Wireless" technology between the probes and the standalone unit (not the connection between phone and standalone unit). Supposedly this gives much higher range to combat the loss of signal when enclosed inside the oven/grill, but not sure how well it really works. Being $6 more than this P4 unit, it's probably worth it if you were to buy today.
Price history shows this is the cheapest it's been (though it doesn't track coupon discounts, so there could have been a previous coupon that dropped it further).

I just did a Google search: ThermoMaven and Typhur are sister brands owned by the same parent company, Typhur Inc., a San Jose-based entity. ThermoMaven operates as a sister brand to Typhur, often offering similar wireless meat thermometer technology, sometimes marketed as a more accessible or Amazon-exclusive alternative to the premium Typhur branded
