The 050 is indeed useful, but I've also gotten a lot of mileage from my 044. It's so compact, and the magnetic mount is great.

050 is AWESOME, I bought two of them. Flood lights are great.
the 040 is pure garbage and if it hadn't come in a kit, I would NEVER buy one. Never use it. garbage pen light which doesn't light up very much

sadly, woot had the 050 for $35 and $39 last year. This "new price" isn't nearly as good as previous woots for the same light. At $50, it becomes less of a deal.

Have to agree with you there. My iPhone flashlight is practically better for closer range than that crappy light. Thankfully mine came in a kit as well

My experience with 040 is all positive; I've been running two on the small powerstack batteries for years and love them. I use them nightly to take the dog out and they are lightweight and powerful enough to reach to the end of the yard. The freestanding base and the pivot head features are handy as well.
