Yeah but the price should be taken into account when these generalizations are made. You can't find a full array or OLED close to this price so what would someone with a $300-$400 budget do if they want a TV if this size? Their only option would be an edge lit TV is this is a good one imho even though it's an older model

Did some googling and while this is a good price/deal, the consensus on the TV itself is that it is "edge lit" and therefore should be avoided. Just my 2cents.

Best Buy Specs says "Direct Lit" and Google AI Overview also says "Direct Lit"... same as it is in OP.
Google AI Overview...
The 2025 Samsung 65" Q6F (QN65Q6FAAFXZA/XZC) is a 4K QLED smart TV featuring Quantum Dot technology for 100% color volume, the Q4 Lite Processor, and Motion Xcelerator for improved clarity. It runs on the Tizen OS, supports HDR10+, and includes a 60Hz refresh rate, Direct Lit backlight, and Object Tracking Sound Lite.

The TV is direct lit, not edge. Making generalized comments like this without doing your research could potentially mislead others into getting a bad deal.

I was responding to the person who called it edge lit. I took their word for it, but hey, glad you got your gotcha moment. Must be the highlight of your day lol

What does that mean to a person who doesn't know much about tv specs? I've got a 60 inch lg plasma I've had since 2014 lol. It looks and works fine but I guess I wouldn't mind changing it.

Why are you responding to this person and not the person he quoted who is the original comment that stated this tv was edge lit? The person you're replying to is merely asking for a good TV in the budget of 3-400... Not using basic reading comprehension skills could mislead others even worse.

Here is the reddit comment I got this from, do your own research: I'll be honest, none of these TVs are good and I would recommend looking at TCL or Hisense as you'll get better performance and picture quality over these three. One of the reason why (besides the Q7F) is that Q6F and Q8F is an edge lit display. RTINGs did a great video on why these types of TVs should be avoided because their life span is terrible, and frankly the picture quality isn't good.
The Q6F is basic as they come. 4K 60Hz and lacks a lot of the modern features found in a 4K QLED.
The Q7F is the same as the Q6F but the only thing that changes is that it uses a direct lit display. Still no local dimming, and for a direct lit display, the brightness is still the same.
The Q8F goes back to being an edge lit display, but adopts the modern features like 4K 144Hz, with HDMI 2.1 support and VRR. The brightness is "better" but I am saying that word loosely because the other two TVs did a mediocre job in that department.
If you had to pick between these three, the Q8F is the best of the three. However, the TCL QM6K or QM7K blow these TVs out of the water. You would be much happier with going with another brand.
