Anyone have any first-hand experience comparing this stuff to Bar Keeper's Friend for tasks like removing carbon from pan bottoms?

I wouldn't use this stuff on grill grates or any cooking surfaces, as it's not NSF certified, whereas Bar Keeper's is, so I'm trying to gauge whether it's truly good enough to take up more space under the sink as a +1.

Agree on not using it on cooking surfaces. (Did use it on a ceramic stove top, but that is different. Also, did not scratch!). I thought it worked well, but maybe I didn't close it well or left water in it. . . 1/2 way through it was dried up. Probably could have still used it, but more work to get it to dissolve. I don't have that issue with Bar Keeper's. For this price, it is worth a try. Make sure you close it!

My container had mold in it after I tried it out and then it sat around for a couple months.

What it the best application / use of this cleaning product? Can you use it on clothes or carpets or just non-porous surfaces?

Bar keeper does a better job removing carbon from pans when I did some comparisons.

No coupon for me, still cheap enough though. Looking forward to trying this on the oven. Literally nothing else is working

No, but this product and many like it (Barkeep's Friend, Cerama Bryte etc) are mostly just a soft mineral. Pink Stuff [thecleaningcollective.co.uk] is mostly SiO2 (quartz) with a mohs of 7, BK [barkeepersfriend.com]has feldspar instead (mohs 6) and CB [ceramabryte.com]has both. Of course there are other components, generally some sort of surfactant. (higher mohs scratches lower mohs, so SiO2 is harder than feldspar). The other components serve to suspend or dissolve fats, attack surface stains (most of them have a mild acid like citric), etc.

IF you're looking for something gentler I'd put them in the order BK

I'm not a super user but:
- cleaning my kitchen sink which is white ceramic and gets all marked up
- glass cooktops
- inside of oven glass door/window

It's a mild abrasive so be careful what you use it on. Requires elbow grease. Personally I usually use a foam pad drill attachment .
