Bosch's Glide miter saw stands out for its compact axial glide design, smooth cut feel, and strong reputation for shop use, especially where back clearance and storage space matter. The saw is described as a joy to use, with long term durability and a premium feel, and the 12 inch size is favored at this price for those wanting more capacity. The main drawback is the lack of a built in laser or shadow line, and a few precision focused comments flag table wing height and blade alignment concerns for furniture work. A solid fit when space savings and corded convenience matter more than extra visibility features.
Common Questions (5)
No built-in laser or shadow line is included. A laser can be added for about $20, but precision cuts may still be better handled by drawing a pencil line and lowering the blade to test fit before cutting.
Yes. Buyers reported successful Home Depot price matches through chat or phone, sometimes with extra cash back, and the saw could be shipped to a nearby store for pickup when local stock was unavailable.
Yes, the axial-glide design saves a lot of depth because it needs much less rear clearance than a traditional slider. That makes it a strong fit for a garage or permanent bench setup, while a DeWalt-style slider can be easier if you wheel the saw outside for cuts.
It can work well in a fixed garage setup and is praised for smooth use and space savings, but one report says the table wings sit slightly below the surface and the blade alignment may be off enough to matter for furniture-grade cuts. That makes it better suited to general carpentry than precision joinery if those issues are present on your unit.
Not ideally. Table saw blades usually use a higher hook angle to hold material down, while miter saw blades use a lower or negative hook angle, so sharing blades between the two tools is uncommon.

This.
The problem with lasers is that they spread out (.e.g the line becomes fuzzy) so whatever you see is not exactly what you'll get - so there are times where precision matters and where it doesn't necessarily matter. Where it matters I'm not going to trust the laser anyway, and where it doesn't matter the cuts without a laser should be good enough.
Only to realize that I really don't need it and can easily get by with a circular saw. And I have several perfect 90deg crosscut sleds for my table saw.
The Bosch is a joy to use. High quality. I have it on a rolling stand now.
i did take like 30 min from start of chat to payment
it did go through some crazy payment system and not through the normal system, i did get an email with tracking info
