This tv is garbage. I even choose the box with zero damage on it. The whites and colors glow and produce horrible flash and makes viewing horrible. Also there were tons of them at my local Walmart. Do not buy this POS. And yes calibrateing TV is a hobby of mine.

And here I thought mini led was the budget OLED alternative that was generally good. Glad I went to the comments.

Got this couple of days ago. The picture quality is not great out of the box. The AI upscaler, with smooth motion is sht as any fake upscaler TVs. So, first thing you need to change is Picture settings. I liked "Theater mode" with smoothening settings to low. Take the smooth template to Film instead of other options. Turn on Adaptive brighness option, that based on your ambient light adjusts the brightness. After all this, now I have a tv that matches the performance of a high priced one for sure! Great value for the bucks. Just change the picture settings to your own comfort level.

Added to that, if I could afford an OLED, I would, but as I could not, this is hell of a value TV. And as it is a google tv, I can side load apps to virtually watch any movies/tvs I want.

agreed.
picked up one of these a few weeks ago from PC Richards for my wife's workout TV in the basement. after you change a bunch of settings, it's not a bad TV at all...

is it as good as my Bravia in the family room or C5 OLED in the master? no of course not.
but pick the right tool for the job...

This tv rocks. I replaced a 70" 1080p Vizio. This tv has Dolby vision, Dolby atmos and mini led. Yes, agreed it takes time to tune and get a nice picture but maybe go into settings before judging. I love it and don't miss the 70 because the picture is beautiful and goes well with my 9.2.4 atmos set-up. YMMV

It's not a good product. Very average colors. Buy it for the price, might get better Roku or TCL TVs.
