Click on the warehouse on the bottom of your app. Then click that you want to shop your warehouse.

I'm able to easily see that my warehouse doesn't carry most weights and that I'd need to order it online.

It's warren oil, the same people who make supertech. I'm thinking if you are changing every 5000 miles (especially given that it's so cheap to do so with this), it'll be no issues. But obviously, ymmv

Interestingly, from I can see, it's $30 for 2x 5qt in-store so online is actually cheaper. I really like that the Costco app lets you check in-store inventory and prices now.

I didn't know that the 5w30 High Mileage version wouldn't have the DexOS badge. Would it be bad to put the non-DexOS high mileage version in my wife's 2019 GM with LGX 3.6L V6 with 125k miles?

5w-30 or 10w-30 both work fine for lawn mowers, generators, power washers! These are synthetic oils, unlike those "cheap" 2-cycle engine oils.
Why would someone use 2-stroke oil in a lawnmower, generator, or power washer? Those are all 4-stroke engines and don't premix gas and oil.

Does it match the grade your GM requires? Is DexOS one of them or not? My toyota needs 0W-20 in API SN or higher. The 0W-20 they sell has ANI SP, so it works with my Toyota. Check what your car requires.

Black after 1000 miles? What's wrong with your car, or is it a diesel?
Many GDI vehicles look dark fast. Oil color alone is really not an indicator that the oil has degraded or not.

It's strange to me that a lot of peeps buy synthetic for more money and still change at 5k. Why pay for the synthetic if your changing at that interval seems like a waste of money to me. I'm at 10k each change VW turbo vehicle is 10 years old now no issues. And I short trip the crap out of it. 😜😜.

API SP. Good if you have an older car that lacks a turbo or timing chain.

Everyone with turbos or timing chains should switch to an API SQ oil, if you want to improve your chances of hitting 300,000 miles.

SQ has added detergents and purity that protects both components specifically. GM is using it to get their way out of the L87 camshaft failure debacle.
Link to the updated specs? And which GM is requiring SQ?

Color of the oil is not a reliable indicator of wear. It'll look black after 1000 miles. The only way to know for sure is to send a sample to the lab. Chances are, if you use full synthetic oil, it's fine for 10-15K miles.
I have a F350 with a gas 6.2l I bought used. Did my first 5k oil change and the oil looked the same coming out as it did going in and it has 145k miles on it.

It's $20 for an oil change. Why would anyone even risk going to 10K miles? Change it early and change it often to keep the sludge from building up.
Eh, in that huge engine he probably has a sump capacity of like 8 quarts that he can comfortably push out in terms of mileage.

I wonder if in store is even cheaper?
From my past experience, the price online is cheaper/same than in store, specifically for oil.

Ahh, there is a practical balance to this; just because we used to hear 3000 miles does not mean anything today. Saying Change it often only because its $20 also is pointless and the counter is then why not change at 1000 or even 500 miles?????

If the oil is doing what its designed for going to 10,000 miles should be fine. One way to to be certain is if you drive "normal" if not then change sooner 7,500 is a sweet spot. It still costs time and effort to change oil BTW. One Certain way to be sure is to get a used oil analysis (Blackstone) for under $40 to be Sure.

I used to do 5000 OCIs and have gone up to 7500 and even tested at 10,000 and the testing came back indicating that the oil was still with spec to go longer. The only variable is driving conditions heat/cold along with your oil filter and time.

If it's out of warranty, I wouldn't sweat it. Dexos is mainly a marketing ploy where oil manufacturers pay royalties to gm in order to display the dexos logo (and increase their sales). Any decent (even store brand synthetic like Kirkland) can easily meet the dexos requirements. Synthetic blends rarely meet the reqs but there are some

5k oil change does seem a bit too much imo. I think it depends on the car as well. For example, a 10 year old prius u can get by with 10k oil change, but a sports car i would think around 7k is fine, depending on how the car was driven.
