Click on the warehouse on the bottom of your app. Then click that you want to shop your warehouse.

I'm able to easily see that my warehouse doesn't carry most weights and that I'd need to order it online.

It's warren oil, the same people who make supertech. I'm thinking if you are changing every 5000 miles (especially given that it's so cheap to do so with this), it'll be no issues. But obviously, ymmv

Interestingly, from I can see, it's $30 for 2x 5qt in-store so online is actually cheaper. I really like that the Costco app lets you check in-store inventory and prices now.

So basically actual design issue and best to avoid the current V35A.
Yes. Design goal V35A: maximum efficiency and power. Unfortunately, engine blows up during warranty period.

Let assume you have a "good engine". Dirt (silica) from the intake air is the main contributor to engine wear. Second is the build up of combustion byproducts on chains, chain tensioners, oil passages, piston rings, and valves. The third is fuel dilution, especially with short trip direct injected engines. Cheapest and quickest way to remove these contaminants is to drain hot oil out of the engine.

Contamination wear occurs over a long period of time. The cylinder bore is probably shot by the time you notice excessive oil consumption. Car is out of warranty. Too expensive to fix. Buy another car. Rinse and repeat.

I did not touch oil viscosity because a designer can offset the downside of low oil viscosity with higher oil pressure and mass flow rate, both of which require more work (lower operating efficiency). There is no free lunch.

Wow, my EV is saving me $$$. NO GAS and NO OIL changes ever!! Smilie
EV requires coolant and oil for proper operation. So yet, you will eventually need to replace the old coolant and oil. Rest assure that your lifetime fluid will not fail during the warranty period.

Regardless of how many or little miles one puts on a car, change that used old oil at least once annually! Once exposed to high heat in the engine, that oil is oxidized.
I drive my Lexus SUV about 2k miles per year with synthetic oil. Dealership says change oil once a year. Toyota Car Care Nut says to change oil twice a year.

Should I change the synthetic oil every 9 months for driving around 2k miles per year?

You're downvoted but I also don't know anything about cars lol. I have a 2018 Chevy volt. Google says this:"The 2018 Chevy Volt uses a 1.5L naturally aspirated (non-turbo) 4-cylinder engine with a timing chain. It requires Dexos1 Gen 2 or Gen 3 (API SP/SN Plus) rated OW-20 oil to prevent low-speed pre-ignition (LSPI). The engine is engineered to run at specific temperatures, making high-quality synthetic oil essential for longevity."Can anyone tell me if this oil is fine for my car? First time trying to change the oil myself!
Yes you can use this oil for your Volt. Great deal.

Once a year should be more than enough if you use synthetic oil. However, time your oil change right before the cold, harsh winter so the oil is still new and its viscosity will protect the car engine on cold morning startups!

I don't see 0w-16 that the 2025 Toyota sienna requires.
Garage, Jack stands, .etc aren't included either

Poster above is says $20 for labor alone.
Why would a garage or jack stands be included. That makes no sense. These are not incremental costs associated solely with oil changes. They would amortize through the myriad uses for garages and jack stands. I'm trying to imagine a scenario where someone has a garage only for oil changes. If they do, then the interval would likely be of zero concern to them.
How about the lifetime of food costs to grow into a person who can change oil. Or the cost of the clothes worn while doing an oil change. And the washing machine and dryer to launder them. Or the bandwidth absolutely wasted on this discussion.

Ahh, good to know. The last synthetic oil change at dealership was October 2025. So perfect timing before the winter (in NYC) to do it in October, right?

The car is parked in a semi-heated indoor building garage. When it was -10 to -20 real feel in January, the garage temp was low 50s.

Thanks!

Rest assured, I will not own it anymore by the time the warranty period ends.
