Anyone aware of a direct comparison between this older one and their new P781 version, the qi2.2 one? This is a good price but if the other is a significantly faster battery I'd rather wait pay a bit more for that one.

I got 2 of these for my last trip. The MagSafe magnets are not super strong like Anker products, and the battery can get very hot (so hot I used it as a hand warmer during my trip lol). Other than that, it works just how is suppose to.

does it charge via the magsafe or does that just connect it?

I use these products a lot. The MagSafe is pretty strong - I've owned more magnetic chargers that did not stick as well. These will get warm (not dangerous hot), but so does every 15w wireless charger that I've come across.

Now, the kickstand WILL break on these. I think you get like 5 uses out of them before the hinge gives out and they arm comes loose or detaches entirely.

That being said, I like the product. 45w wired charging also means I can use these to charge laptops in a pinch too.

You might need to provide a link, but the "newer" model I see just has lower wired charging speeds.

Wired charging of the battery via USB-C. MagSafe is discharge only.

I actually have this. it does not charge at 45w, more like 22.5w. That being said I really like it and use it primarily due to its form factor.
