PSA: these only work if your car's side windows are tempered-glass. If you have laminated glass, this will NOT work. For that you would need a saw blade such as the Lifeline Evac-Pro. If you don't know which you have you can usually check the markings on the glass, but an easier method is to roll your window down and look at it from the top. If there is a a darker color in the center sandwiched by glass, then you have laminated glass windows.

Yes, about 1/3 of cars have laminated glass on the front seat side windows to reduce the "ejection rate". For most, the rear seat windows are still tempered, and also the front seat windows for 2 out of 3 new cars (higher % in older cars).

Has anyone here ever had to use one of these? Does anyone here know of anyone who has ever used one of these?
