I have one of these and I have a Cobra. I can tell you this is far superior. Especially in the Florida sun, it doesn't fall, it's extremely small, and it makes great-quality video. The app is very easy. On the Cobra app, it takes forever to load. I definitely recommend one of these. Part of me wants to get another one and switch out that stupid Cobra. Deal is a good one.
That said, this garmin daahcam uses a battery which can fail in the long run. I've had good experience with viofo that use super capacitors which don't wear out over time.
Also, while 1080p resolution is adequate, I think 2k resolution is a good sweet spot between being able to see finer details like license plates and file size.

Hmm that last picture looks like the suction cup is kinda stubby. Can it be extended so you can use this as a rear camera in vertical window in a pickup truck?
I almost bit but I see the Rove ROVE R2-4K DUAL Dash Cam is only $10 more: ROVE R2-4K DUAL Dash Cam Front and Rear, STARVIS 2 Sensor, FREE 128GB Card Included, 5G WiFi - up to 20MB/s Fastest Download Speed with App, 4K 2160P/FHD Dash Camera for Cars, 3" IPS, 24H Parking Mode
Suction cups are suction cups, they fail. Will it fall while your driving 75 on the highway causing a panic during your driving process, or when your turning a corner at a intersection and cause you to stumble whil steering throught the corner? Who knows. But I do know this, if youtake the suction cup off and put a nice round piece of double sided sticky foam tape on the circular mount it will stay stuck to the windshield for as long as you nneed it to without fail. This is lways the easiest way to solve the crappy suction cup attachments.

There's no battery in this camera. Avoiding a camera because it has a battery makes no sense, the battery provides some functionality when the car is off, if/when it fails the camera still works.

Happened to me many times when i had old cams with suction cups. That's why i use strong adhesive 3M 20lb or Gorilla 60lbs rated tape.
Looking for similar device with no suction cups. Front and rear tint can become a problem. Anyone got any ideas? Maybe something that attaches to front mirror?
these minis are a great option if you just want a cam and don't need the built in screen; easy to mount behind the rear view mirror and put out of sight.

You're wrong though. It says right on Garmin's product page that it uses a supercapacitor. See for yourself, and edit/delete your incorrect "information".
If you want more resolution, that's fine, and a very valid personal preference. Just don't post incorrect info.
