peeling garlic is more time consuming than cutting

my method is to get tupperware and shake it but can only do a few cloves at a time

If you've got a thin silicone pot holder, or two, try putting the cloves between them and just rubbing. The silicone makes easy work of it, but do it over a sink to control the mess. They sell silicone sleeves just for that purpose but this works just as well.

I cut off a tiny bit at both ends, then I cut it in half with a dull knife so the clove gets split but the skin on the bottem doesn't, then it just comes right off.

Easiest method, use a butcher knife and smash it. Skin falls right off.
