The more you take the less your body will produce, you're creating/worsening your own sleeping problems if you take melatonin every night. FYI

This is actually a well studied hormone and is not like supplementing other hormones. There has never been any evidence that shows you will lower your natural production. In some cases it may actually help increase it.
