I have a question for experts. I had to add a line to get a second S26 since the upgrade on the first line didn't work. Can I cancel the second line, move the sim from the first phone to the second one to unlock the phone after 60 days. Of course, after unlocking the first one.

Yesterday I was able to unlock my S26 Ultra that I have activated 2 months ago on my free line. Since then it was inactive until yesterday. You see it doesn't need to be active on the line all the time for 2 months.
How did you unlock? Did you contact Spectrum or it was auto unlocked?

I contacted Spectrum via chat to do that. You can call too, but doing through chat is the best. No auto unlocked. Make sure the phone is activated for 60 days at least before unlocked request and the phone doesn't need to be active on the line all the time. Like me after I activated it, I shelved it for 60 days; then requested unlocked.

When you activated the first trade in did you leave it on the phone line and then do another trade in of obviously a cheap phone? or did you put a place holder on the phone line before you actually did another trade in. Will be interesting to see how unlocking works for all of these phones. Hope it goes smoothly for you.
For my free line, after I activated the phone, I shelved it off and then move the SIM card to my Motorola phone that I was using it everyday; then proceeded to trade-in the next one.

Make sure it is connected to WiFi and restart it.

Have you canceled all the phone lines you are paying for now and just keeping the free line and going to move the phones to that for unlocking when they are ready? Would be so nice if they didn't have to be active on a line to get them unlocked.

I'm seriously thinking of canceling the 3 lines that I'm paying $20 for prior to the 15th. Kind of shady to the sales rep that was so cool and the manager that gave me an extra $400.

I am going to cancel before the end of the month and I already paid 2 months for both lines. Why wait to the 15th? I thought every new line starts from the 1st to the end of the month. My 3 lines started like that and that is how they were charged.

My month runs 16th through 15th so it starts when you activate your first phone. Your cycle ends in 2 days on May 15.
My internet is different--it's 26th to 25th. They sent me the equipment for internet but no install and it's not being installed until the 20th but I've already paid my first month. They said they would adjust it once the internet was activated.
Maybe they will pro-rate it after this--who knows

For the past 2 years, I only experienced the phones from the free line, but this time I will experience the phones that I bought on the new limes and hopefully unlock should not be a problem.

I noticed you can suspend a line vs canceling it. Would this be better to suspend and then see if phone unlocks through chat on the 61st day? I have to assume if you suspend the line--that there is no monthly cost. If your going to pay for 2 months--might make sense to suspend and then start up again if you need to in order to get phone unlocked. So you paid for first month on new line, then suspend for a month, then if you can't get phone unlocked--go ahead and reinstate the line(s) and get phone unlocked and then cancel lines. Anyone have any experience suspending the phone lines vs just canceling them? Thinking it can be done online easily but chat person thought customer service would need to do it. I won't know until I click through it and try it.

Edit: Here is what customer service said: Good afternoon, you can suspended a line only one time per year for up to 90 days. At 90 days being suspended the line will auto activate at that time. During suspension the plan cost will not be billed to you
it is free to suspend a line

It's definitely a phone call. I only have a free line so I can't test it out for you.

Your right either a phone call or chat. I was able to suspend them through chat very easily and they are off my bill for this next month. They are suspended for 90 days.

Now will see how unlocking goes.
