Silliness aside: few people write reviews and say "my item did NOT get damaged in transit" not to mention such a large and fragile device is bound to have a fair share of shipping damage claims. That being said, perhaps Acer could package them better or use a different courier. The only real risk though MIGHT be the hassle of a return if your unit does arrived manhandled.
BTW, what are we thanking you for, baseless conjecture?

I'm just calling it like I see it. It wasn't a couple reviews, it was a lot more just in the SD post. I've bought several monitors including refurbs but nothing was packaged as shoddily as this.

"Calling it like you see it?" The insurance scam fantasy with zero evidence? I only called that was nonsense...like I saw it. Sorry for stealing your thunder?
BTW, I love how your original comment lacked any of the poor packing references and now is alluding to the hassle of returns. Basically echoing my reply while pretending to argue with it. Funny how that works
Long story short; noting past experience with shipping damage is a great thing to pass on, making up iNsUrAnCe sCaMs and conspiracies...not so much. Sorry, calling it like I see it.
Good luck with whatever you are going through and hope it gets better. And feel free to have the last word, seems you may need it.
