No. $400 off the top. S26 Ultra is $899 already (not $1299). Get a cheap prepaid phone (I have a Galaxy A03s), they'll give me $5 + $700 promo credit = $705. My total will end up being $194 + tax. Pay in full. There's no way I would give up my S25 Ultra in this case. It's worth more selling on the private market.
I did this a month ago and got an S26 the same way. I'll do the S26 Ultra tomorrow on the same line.
I do in-store, though. Sales tax is applied differently (since your trade-in is evaluated and applied right away) as opposed to doing it online and waiting for the promo credit to hit.

No. Pay the cost of the phone at checkout, send in your trade-in and you'll get the FULL value applied to your account. You can call/chat and have that credit applied as a refund to your credit card.
If you're paying in full, there is nothing involving "3 years" at all. It's paid.

Yes! And it's MUCH better. At least in TX and many other states, you make out a lot better because you only pay sales tax on the amount AFTER your trade-in is applied.
If you do it online, you pay the FULL sales tax of the device and the credit is applied later, no sales tax refunded.
I will literally save something like $95 doing it in-store rather than online.

So to be clear, because I still don't understand fully, if I go in store and choose the pay in full option, I have to pay in full and eventually I can get the full credit refunded back to my card? Or do all the discounts stack in store and reduce the overall cost automatically so that I'm only paying the remaining cost of the phone/tax?
You're only paying remaining amount + tax at the store.

In my view, the cost breakdown for adding an extra line for this promo would look like this:

• $200 for the phone (post promo)
• $100 toward taxes (average)
• $60 for a two‑month plan (30$ per month)

Total: $360

If anyone has tried this before or has firsthand experience with this setup, I'd appreciate your input. Does this math line up with what you paid, or am I missing anything that should be factored in?

Correct.. But you can go with 20$ plan.. Buy a gig.. Also 100& tax depends on state.. Some states do tax on full price.. Some on final

Tried to trade in S26 for S26U by upgrading a line but no matter what she couldn't get an extra 700. Then I tried to trading in Samsung A16 , same result. She was helpful, even called a coworker and manager to help me out but they also failed. Finally I added a new line which gave me $400 plus 700 trade in discount.

Don't know why some people are successfully trading second time on the same in store but some cant.

Can anyone who bought the phone in-store in Florida tell me how much tax you paid? It's $91 online, want to see how much of a difference it would be.

i'm currently on Mint for mobile and Spectrum for internet only. i have no idea where to start first or how to transfer account.

is the $700 trade in credit a fixed amount or is the credit dependent on what phone i have? if not, is there a cheap phone i can buy to use as trade in?

trying to navigate though the process.

Wow if this is true that's like $78 tax difference from in-store to online.

It is true. I've discussed it a lot in this thread. Spectrum does not properly collect sales tax.

Well looks like I might miss this deal. Doubt my return would be cleared by the 21st to repurchase in-store.

What phone should you buy at Walmart best buy or Dollar general to make this trade?

Went in-store yesterday and got the s26 ultra for free on my free line that I had already been using. I also did get the deal for the s26 base the day it came out on this same line that I activated that day, but I didn't trade in the s26. Traded in the s25+ I had. At first I was told I couldn't get the $400 off because it was only for 36 months credits. He even showed me the e-mail they received stating that, but I showed him that on my account when I add everything to my cart, it shows I still do get the $400 so he gave it a try anyways and it worked. It was $400 off the ultra, $700 the trade in deal and $250 for the s25+ so it came out free and also got about $20 of credit after taxes. Not a bad deal I would say.
Question: I did this in-store. Traded-in an old moto-g for an S26+, In my Spectrum account online it shows Remaining Balance: Full price roughly $1100, and monthly credits of roughly $30.42. Should it show 0 instead? What is the fullpay option? Should the order have been processed differently?

Sounds like they processed it as a "pay monthly" agreement, which is incorrect. Should have been processed as a "pay in full", meaning the entire balance (after trade-in) is paid for at point-of-sale. That is, of course, unless you want to lock in with Spectrum for the next 36 months to get all of the device credits. How much did you pay at the register?

Should have had the option to do pay in full at the store. Sounds like they set it up as monthly credits, which is not recommended since the credits are across 36 months which means you're stuck with 3yrs of service.

I just got the S26 ultra at the store. I traded in a iPhone 13, which provides 105 dollars for me. I paid 94 dollars (1299-400-700-105) + 117 dollars taxes OTD. I don't why the taxes is so high since the trade-in did at the store and the remaining value is around 100 dollars. The staff have tried the walmart moto g 2025. It's ok to get the 700$ promotion and i still need to paid 117 dollar taxes.

If you got the email receipt, it would have something like "Taxes are based on the full price of your equipment in City-Name, State"
