No. $400 off the top. S26 Ultra is $899 already (not $1299). Get a cheap prepaid phone (I have a Galaxy A03s), they'll give me $5 + $700 promo credit = $705. My total will end up being $194 + tax. Pay in full. There's no way I would give up my S25 Ultra in this case. It's worth more selling on the private market.
I did this a month ago and got an S26 the same way. I'll do the S26 Ultra tomorrow on the same line.
I do in-store, though. Sales tax is applied differently (since your trade-in is evaluated and applied right away) as opposed to doing it online and waiting for the promo credit to hit.

No. Pay the cost of the phone at checkout, send in your trade-in and you'll get the FULL value applied to your account. You can call/chat and have that credit applied as a refund to your credit card.
If you're paying in full, there is nothing involving "3 years" at all. It's paid.

Yes! And it's MUCH better. At least in TX and many other states, you make out a lot better because you only pay sales tax on the amount AFTER your trade-in is applied.
If you do it online, you pay the FULL sales tax of the device and the credit is applied later, no sales tax refunded.
I will literally save something like $95 doing it in-store rather than online.

Just did the deal in store. Question, Spectrum app still shows I'm still eligible for a device upgrade on the same free line (I only have 1x line), does it mean I can double dip and get another trade in promo for 2nd device upgrade? I can get all the way to purchase order showing the trade in promo credit, but online rep is telling me I won't be eligible for another device promo. Any idea?

So I went back to the store today and I managed to get my s26 ultra 256 GB as they don't carry the 512 GB in store. If I was to order it to be shipped to me I would have had to pay the tax on the full amount of the phone before any discounts and then rely on the discounts and the trade-in being credited. The only thing that was weird is I'm in NYC and my total was $199.99 and the tax came out to $53 nobody could explain why it was so much but I was able to call in and have them issue me a $30 service credit. The only other issue I experienced I got the free line for a year but I couldn't add my Galaxy watch 6 as the IMEI came up as incompatible even though I bought it directly from Samsung and I had it working with T-Mobile but I don't even know if it's worth it for $10 a month the amount that I use it. So total came out to about $225 by trading in the Moto 5G 2025 that I purchased for $40 from Amazon but beware that it ships with an activation screen that you can't get past and they're supposed to test the camera by scanning a QR code before they accept it but I was able to show them that it was brand new I just opened it and they somehow bypassed that check and accepted it.

it looks like they taxed you on the amount of the device after trade in promo ($1,299 - $705) I'm pretty sure they were only supposed to tax you on the price of the device after trade in and promo discount.
considering doing this in NYC too, which store did you do this at? did you sign up for the free mobile deal on the spot?

so they reversed the $400 promo which was for the new customer and port in? and not this $400 promotion which it doesn't have a requirement.

Has anyone here traded in an S25 Ultra that was fully paid through last year's Spectrum promo for the S26 Ultra?
I just got hit with a $400 charge reversal. Billing is saying I didn't meet the 36-month requirement from the original promo, so they took back the $400 credit.
I'm confused because the phone when I purchased I paid in full when I traded it in and by that time, the promo was $700 only. Has anyone experienced this or successfully disputed it?

Why over complicating it? Get the Moto G 2025 that had been proven to work (and cheapest option) and get the deal. It this one here:https://www.walmart.com/ip/Straig...4552506783Instruct Spectrum that it's listed under "Other" carrier from their trade-in. Test the trade-in on Spectrum website so you're prepared.
Two questions if you can help:
1. Got this just now. I connected to wifi and got all the way to home screen without activating. 2. IF I check online with trade in with entering Imei, while planning to trade in in-store. Will it cause any issue?

when did you do the S25 ultra to S26 ultra? because there's two $400 promotions, 1 is the new customer with port in, 2 is the current promo 400 off the phone itself.

Reserved an appointment yesterday. in and out in under 30 min today.

Im on $10/month Fold 7 from last year. came in today and traded an Iphone13pro ($149 value)

I got a S26 Ultra 256gb Black $1299 ($899 discounted)
-$700 additional trade in value
-$149 (iphone 13pro)

Paid $50.99

happy that I was able to do it in-store again (I was flagged in-store transaction for Fold7 deal last year because of the S25U and S25+ I got ealier that yr)

glad that i waited a bit before jumping on the S26U deal. saves me $400!

I did the trade in last week. The billing department said the $400 was a reversal from the s25U and not from s26U.

Why am I being charged 49 dollars in sales tax on the ultra that has a subtotal of $186? In Texas, the value of tangible personal property taken by a seller in trade as all or part of the consideration for a sale is excluded from the taxable sales price.
