No. $400 off the top. S26 Ultra is $899 already (not $1299). Get a cheap prepaid phone (I have a Galaxy A03s), they'll give me $5 + $700 promo credit = $705. My total will end up being $194 + tax. Pay in full. There's no way I would give up my S25 Ultra in this case. It's worth more selling on the private market.
I did this a month ago and got an S26 the same way. I'll do the S26 Ultra tomorrow on the same line.
I do in-store, though. Sales tax is applied differently (since your trade-in is evaluated and applied right away) as opposed to doing it online and waiting for the promo credit to hit.

No. Pay the cost of the phone at checkout, send in your trade-in and you'll get the FULL value applied to your account. You can call/chat and have that credit applied as a refund to your credit card.
If you're paying in full, there is nothing involving "3 years" at all. It's paid.

Yes! And it's MUCH better. At least in TX and many other states, you make out a lot better because you only pay sales tax on the amount AFTER your trade-in is applied.
If you do it online, you pay the FULL sales tax of the device and the credit is applied later, no sales tax refunded.
I will literally save something like $95 doing it in-store rather than online.

Yes, once the credit posts to your account you need to contact CS either by phone or chat and ask for the credit to be posted to your credit card.
Do you know how many days does it take to get the credit posted after the trade-in device has been sent?

my stupid question

I want to order a phone from Amazon to trade in. Today is the last day of the promotion. Can I input any IMEI number of the phone? Will they deny my trade in if the IMEI of the phone doesn't match with the IMEI I input?

Get one from Walmart. Straight Talk one someone provided link earlier. Assuming there's Walmart.

DP: Went to store 1 in NC, they upfront told me nothing in stock, couldn't tell other store had it. Drove 20miles to another store, employee was helpful got 2 phones out(26U and 26+) started processing first trade in, then second employee ask him to help him with something, they went inside and came back stating there's an issue with the devices, so they have to order online. SMH, I told them that does not make sense and called out the other employee that it was going through until you tried to help and now there's issue with phones. Finally first employee said let me try and then he was able to go through the process for first and told me the amount but couldn't do the second one. So, he did two separate transactions. But could either send me bill or breakup of 2nd purchase(SMH) and I can't find it online in my account in orders(can only see the first one). Overall, took more than an hour but I was out with 2 phones(26+,26U). Cost was $79 for +, and $309 for Ultra. It looks like Account activation was not waived for ultra. Was told to check with CS. Anyone have any luck with CS to waive that now? Also, any recommendations for case? Ultra is really huge, I am thinking should have got another plus. But oh well.
Update: CS can't send email for the order invoice their manager too. Ticket opened. Also, no waiving of activation fee. I was asked to go back to the store.

Good on you for sticking it out and calling out that coworker. What did you tell them that got them to come to the counter and process the trades? Most of these reps try to save the phones for themselves once they see people trying to get the deals.

The ultra is the more popular phone, but yes, it's huge. Anyway you have a plus already so what will you do with 2 phones.

Do you want to change the plan, or cancel the plan? You're not clear about it, that's two different things. Yes, you can change the plan to the by-the-gig plan ($20/mo) and still be eligible for the unlock. If you cancel the plan, you won't have the phone unlocked at 60 days, but you can do it if you don't care about the unlock.

So can the spectrum software be flashed to the unlocked version software easily after the phone unlocks?
easily is subjective, but yes it can be done manually semi easily, and it sometimes just happens automatically now in between reboots.

I currently use spectrum with an iPhone, but I am trading in a s21 ultra, do I need to use the s26ultra for 2 months in order to unlock it?
According to their unlock policy: yes. You need 60 days of active service on the phone. Some people have reported being able to unlock without it. Up to you if you want to risk it.

Right. The rep at store told me that the trade-in credit will appear in the next billing cycle. I wouldn't want to wait till then.
