I would like to know that as well. Based on what I know Metro has the best unlock policy out of all now allowing for unlock without any addition payment/recharge after initial purchase. All others need paid service for minm 6 months (example cricket)
QVC/HSN Tracfone phone + 1 year service deals are still competitive on burner-type phones

Agreed but most of those phones are poor on specs and not worth waiting for unlock after 365 days in terms or usability or resellability etc. Not to mention, the service is mostly very very limited to just 1.5GB of data for the whole year and 1500 mins/text for the whole year - an emergency line at best.

Stay away from any TCL products if you don't like forced installed bloats after every restarts, every update. Absolutely terrible user experience.

Is any MVNO still offering 60 day unlock? Or everyone switched to 365 days?
T-Mo prepaid will unlock after spending $100. in refills. So two months is possible.

The service is a big deal if you know how to use it
- Many people harvest the plan by merging it onto an existing TF plan
- Rewards points give you extra data/min/text that you can add on after 2 months
- The number can be transferred to other carriers for port-in deals, ex: get a Galaxy A36 free instead of the TCL phone
- New number gives you new customer promos with various retailers/online services. You can change your Tracfone number 4 times a year. Metro allows 1 free change.

There was a Moto G Power 2024 deal for ~40 each with the 1 year service a few months ago. That phone is also 8GB/128GB with a Dimensity 7020.

Unfortunately all android phones on Metro (and most MVNOs) auto install bloat after every reboot

I actually tried both UAD-NG and Normal ADB commands without success. They removes/disable most bloats. But not all.

True, but lately I have seen Motorola is much better in this regards. Disabled apps remain disabled.

Weaker than the previous model (D7400).

The amount of hoops and loops they made us do for the iPhone deal really soured me on metro, hopefully that and the longer unlock period will reflect in their quarterly reports.

AFAIK, activation is mandatory for the 365 days unlock cycle to kick in.
