Tried a Google Voice number and it was ringing to up as $55 before tax but the porting process for the number failed so the purchase wouldn't complete

Nope if you don't want to activate the sim card but I don't see a reason to not do it
Just got it today and haven't activated it yet. I'm worried that once activated, there will be a bunch of bloatware automatically installed on device. Just planning on using as a WiFi reader so I don't care about the cell service.Anyone activate theirs yet? Does it install a bunch of bloatware?

In the shipping confirmation email there will be a hyperlinked word HERE that links to Check Order Status page, after displaying Order Status results the page will contain an activation link.

Thanks. That's what I remembered from the similar deal for the motorola razr 2024 so that should help out the guy buying it while overseas.

maybe you can learn something new today. Google shizuku and canta. I used these apps to disable tracfone bloatwares.
Did you mean to remove TCL bloatware? That was the complaint. I think you typo'd. Or maybe you meant that was all you tried it on? And that it works for any Android phone?

T-Mobile is also running a promo to get this phone for free over 24 month credits for trade in of any condition. Interested in the screen feature and I had extra lines on my account without EIP so gave it a try.

Decent phone, has IP68 water resistance, fingerprint sensor on power button and overall pretty balanced for its MSRP and the screen feature is unique and pretty practical for on the go E-reader replacement or just eye comfort friendly use before bed.

T-Mobile offer combined with Sam's Club/Costco gift card for EIP and waived activation fee makes this worth a try.

Without root you can't ACTUALLY remove bloatware. Shizuku lets you a subset of root's features via wireless adb without an unlocked bootloader so you can run apps like canva, swift backup and many more (I personally use App Manager from f-droid.org which does ALOT more and is open source/free same as canva) which gives you option to freeze or "uninstall" any app including system apps. They are not actually deleted in that if you reset the phone all the apps come back so you don't actually free any space up but can save battery life by removing background tasks these apps use.

For linux there is UAD (universal android debloater) where you plug the phone to the pc and debloat it. https://github.com/0x192/universa...-debloater

Wasn't my question, so maybe you meant to reply to the same person I did?
Regardless, repped for very good information!
I was just asking that person what they really meant, because the post they replied to did not match with their answer. The original question was about TCL, but that person replied with Tracfone...

Phone works with active Mint Mobile and Tracfone T-mobile physical SIM out of the box. Rejects AT&T (h2o).

Thanks for testing and the helpful list. I was wondering if it would work with Helium mobile (free plan). They also use the T-Mobile network.

Impulse buyer here, I know I'm amongst friends! What's the process for cancellation? I'm assuming activate the phone with the one month plan then cancel? Any tips and/or tricks?
On my account, autopay defaults to Off. So, after a month it just cancels.

If you do not know what a tcl paper screen is, you may want to look up a video on it. I got the tcl paper tablet from straight talk and love the screen. No more strained eyes at night time. As someone mentioned it isn't great outside. Now I believe these are upgraded screens from the one in my tablet so they may be better outside now.
Agree, i got it as a pocket e-reader but as a phone i can actually feel the eye-strain difference from my S25. Makes me strongly consider their nxtpaper 11plus tablet.

yes you can delete any apps with those. I've been using them on all my metropcs and tracfone.
