I've thought about getting a battery string trimmer but my 10+ year old gas Ryobi with original spark plug never quits. The issue with all string trimmers is finding good line. I hate having to add new line 5 times every use.

For me that's coming up $129, and for that price you can also consider the current sale for the 2x24v trimmer with universal connect, which I just got as an upgrade to my regular 24v trimmer. Search on "Model #KMS 3248-06" at the Lowes site to see it, there's a link to the deal somewhere here. You'd get a second battery, but wouldn't get the wheeled edger parts. I just turn my trimmer string-vertical for the little edging I need to do.
