The HomeBase Professional S1 looks like a faster, more capable hub for Eufy cameras, with multi camera viewing in the app, an HDMI based NVR interface, and a built in battery that can keep it running through outages. It also supports a 3.5 inch drive, and a 2.5 inch SSD can fit with an adapter. The main drawbacks are compatibility gaps with older cameras and devices, plus reports that Eufy app performance and live view can still be slow or unreliable. It feels best suited to newer Eufy setups that need more storage and outage protection.

  • The HomeBase Professional S1 can provide multi-camera viewing on the app at once.

  • The HDMI port can expose a full NVR-style interface with additional settings beyond the app.

  • The built-in battery can keep the HomeBase running during power outages for about 24 hours.

  • The unit can stream multiple wireless cameras on the same screen through both the phone app and the NVR interface.

  • The HomeBase Professional S1 can have incomplete support for older cameras, which can limit upgrades for existing owners.

  • The HomeBase Professional S1 may not fix Wi-Fi decrypt and live-view performance issues in every setup.

  • The system can still feel slow on mesh networks, with notable doorbell delay and sluggish loading.

  • The compatibility list link can return a 404, which can make device verification harder before purchase.

UPDATE: This is a repackaged "Network Video Recorder S4" with a focus on wireless devices as it has 4 POE ports instead of 8 with the addition of a battery backup, 4G backup, and AI expand ability. It appears to be the same device otherwise.

So, after installing this... initial feedback and some interesting things I didn't see in the features:

-The full NVR interface exists when you plug HDMI into it. It even supports use with touchscreens connected to the USB-C port. Starting it up at least once like this is also a requirement for security--it requests password creation for the super admin account and exposes a bunch of settings that aren't in the app.

-You can access it with their NVR web portal in addition to the regular eufy portal.

-it is able to stream multiple wireless camera on the same screen at once... both on the phone app and NVR interface.

-Far less lag reporting notifications. Much faster to initiate connections

-Supports connecting cameras (that support it) the ability to hop between your main WiFi first or directly to the Homebase depending on signal

-Breaks Homebridge to connect unsupported cameras to HomeKit and eufy-security for home assistant for now.

If I didn't already have the regular Homebase S380, I would have jumped on this. It's just too much to lose if I upgrade now as it is using a 3.5" HDD instead of 2.5" HDD on the S380. That's like paying $200 + another Hard Drive for it.The good thing about this upgraded Homebase is the ability to view multiple cameras at once on the app, just like Arlo does on the app. Also the built in battery is very nice to have with up to 24 hours during power outage.I have my S380 connected to a UPS which supplies power for about 2.5 hours during an outage.
You can buy an adapter to have your 2.5 fit in the 3.5 drive caddy

But you'll also need UPS for the network and the cameras.
I have 3 eufy cameras. 2 are wireless, so they both stay on even during power outage. It already happened a couple times. Only the homebase is connected to my UPS. And of course, my internet modem + router. The UPS showed about 2.5 hours of power during the outage.

I have a T8420S Floodlight Camera 1080p from 2021 that works great on Homebase3. The fact that they don't support it on this new Homebase Pro S1 is a serious dealbreaker. They need to add support these aren't old devices.

i switched to Tapo ecosystem. I still hve my homebase 2. the only reason I would switch back to eufy is for their thumbnail notification. on tapo u hve to pay for that lol. but it's not a big deal. tapo has cheaper cameras with same video stream quality if not better.
