The TCL QM7K is a bright 75 inch Mini LED QLED TV that stands out in well lit rooms, with strong SDR brightness, good glare handling, deep blacks, and solid processing for lower quality content. The picture is described as impressive for sports and patio use, with good upscaling and a look that gets fairly close to OLED at normal viewing distance. Blooming is still noticeable, HDR color accuracy is not its strongest point, and some feel the current price is too high versus past pricing and competing Samsung models.
buyers who care about upscaling and mixed content because the community reports really good upscaling and overall processing that handles sub-optimal content well.
home theater-style shoppers who want a big-screen upgrade without paying OLED prices because one owner says the 75" is amazing and another says it's about 80% of the way to OLED.
people who mainly notice differences when TVs are side-by-side because at typical viewing distance from a 75" screen, the 7K vs 8K differences aren't terribly apparent.
watchers in bright rooms (like sports viewing) because it's very bright and handles ambient glare well, so the picture stays strong even with room lighting.
owners setting up a TV for a business space like a brewery because a commenter was surprised by the picture quality for the money and called it a good price.
buyers who are very sensitive to color accuracy because one commenter says TCL colors are horrible and another notes HDR color accuracy isn't as strong.
buyers who expect TCL's 7K to be close to OLED performance because commenters say the 7K isn't really "80 percent" near OLED (and that the 8K might be closer).
The gap is reported to be small and mostly noticeable only side by side. At a normal viewing distance, the differences are said to be hard to spot, which makes the QM7K the better value if you do not need the slight step up.
Several comments question the value at this price, saying Samsung QN90 models often hit this range and that the QM8 should be closer to $1,100. The counterpoint is that the QM7K still delivers strong brightness, contrast, and processing for mixed use.
It is very bright, especially in SDR, and handles ambient glare well, making it a strong choice for well-lit rooms and sports. It can still struggle with direct light sources, but blacks remain deep and contrast stays strong even with highlights on screen.
It can look impressive and has strong contrast, but it is not close to OLED overall. The picture is described as roughly 80% of the way there by one owner, while another says the 7K is not near OLED and that the 8K is the closer model.
You can't beat oled however you twist it. These budget brands pushing brightness and paying cheap shill YouTube " reviewers", got a few convinced otherwise.
I can't justify buying the 7K at this price. You can get a Samsung QN90 series at this price multiple times a year and hell I paid $1100 for the 85" QN90D via EPP. If the 8K gets near this price then I'll bite.
This TV was cheaper 10 months ago so how could you on that alone.
This price is nothing short of overpaying let alone a deal.
I just got mine from Amazon 2 days ago, and the image is awesome. SUPER bright, even in SDR, and really good upscaling. It's about 80% of the way to OLED.
I prefer QLED over OLED due to oled having screen burn.

The TCL 8K is a better set than the Samsung QN90D
Now if you bring the Sony Bravia 9 in the conversation I would think differently

The TV delivers very high brightness in SDR, which helps it overcome glare in well-lit rooms.
The TV's upscaling and overall processing handle sub-optimal content well for mixed usage.
The TV provides strong contrast with deep blacks, and it maintains decent HDR brightness despite noticeable blooming.
The 75-inch model can produce an amazing picture on a covered patio where ambient lighting is present.
Some buyers question the $1,000 price as overpaying, especially compared with past pricing or competing Samsung QN90 deals.
The TV struggles with glare from direct light sources, even though it handles ambient glare better.
The TV shows noticeable blooming, which can affect how blacks look when bright highlights appear on screen.
HDR color accuracy is not as strong, so color purists may want calibration for best results.
