Is the QM8 ever going to go on sale? LOL.

The TCL QM7K is a bright 75 inch Mini LED QLED TV that stands out in well lit rooms, with strong SDR brightness, good glare handling, deep blacks, and solid processing for lower quality content. The picture is described as impressive for sports and patio use, with good upscaling and a look that gets fairly close to OLED at normal viewing distance. Blooming is still noticeable, HDR color accuracy is not its strongest point, and some feel the current price is too high versus past pricing and competing Samsung models.

Common Questions (4)

The gap is reported to be small and mostly noticeable only side by side. At a normal viewing distance, the differences are said to be hard to spot, which makes the QM7K the better value if you do not need the slight step up.

Several comments question the value at this price, saying Samsung QN90 models often hit this range and that the QM8 should be closer to $1,100. The counterpoint is that the QM7K still delivers strong brightness, contrast, and processing for mixed use.
motorxoom motorxoom zebra20zebra20
It is very bright, especially in SDR, and handles ambient glare well, making it a strong choice for well-lit rooms and sports. It can still struggle with direct light sources, but blacks remain deep and contrast stays strong even with highlights on screen.
zebra20zebra20 fbueller
It can look impressive and has strong contrast, but it is not close to OLED overall. The picture is described as roughly 80% of the way there by one owner, while another says the 7K is not near OLED and that the 8K is the closer model.

I have both a qm7k (75) and a qm8k (98). They are both great imo. The 75 is on my covered patio and many people have told me that the picture on the tv is amazing. I agree!!!

Got a TCL for the brewery as it was very inexpensive and was quite surprised by the quality of the picture as I thought this was more of a bargain-basement mfg. Good price and thx!

Saw 98" version at Costco for $1200. Not sure it's the same spec but bigger.

That's the Q77K, very low end (Q77K < QM6K < QM7K which this is). RTings review: "The TCL Q77K is disappointing for most uses".

It's not. Colors are horrible on TCl.

Guess you know better than Rtings.

Yes. Some clowns make rtings sound like tv gods. I prefer my eyes over some randos.

You do you, buddy. You know better.
