Disagree. I prefer my Alienware, but for $350 this monitor is amazing.

Yeah this is not a good excuse unless you can't manage your money. Credit cards are essentially a free loan and extra security for your cash while providing cashback given that you have autopay enabled or just pay your bill once a month. Just treat it like a debit card and you are good, nothing more nothing less, but yes they are a means to exploit people.

It's kinda like how standard checking accounts are pointless next to high yield or money markets. Like sure you can do that but why would you if you know what you are doing...

Anyway good luck if you do get this. I would love it but I saw this deal too late and now my Costco is closing...

Ordered 2, and immediately cancelled by either Costco or Instacart. Now I have an $807 hold on my debit card. Great.
If your finances can't tolerate or stomach an $800 hold then you shouldn't be buying it in the first place.

would this be used for console gaming or on top of a desk. Not having experienced it, I wonder if it might seem to much for on top of a desk sitting close to it.

How is a 16:9 32" for gaming on the top of a desk sitting in front of it?

I was holding out, especially with OLED set to get even cheaper this year. However, I couldn't resist the siren call of the death star.

Replacing an over 10yo 4k display from Fry's Electronics (RIP).

Good luck!
Jon

Exactly the same! UpStar M280A1.

A 4k60 TN panel that has served its time. The fact that the UpStar only supported 4k@60 via DisplayPort was complicated for years by my use of legacy BIOS devices which couldn't cleanly POST/boot into the display as a primary. Once I started upgrading my setup in the last 5 years daily driving this monitor finally became more normal.

Now I'll be figuring out it's second life.

Good luck!

Probably meant "27" or less and I'd buy 2 [of them]". Which yeah, 27" 4K is the sweet spot for me. Just waiting on the ones with DP 2.1 to come down in price.

Though an adapter cable isn't an ideal workaround, those needing DisplayPort connectivity to this Dell could consider DisplayPort to USB-C cables rated for 4k@120 or higher. They're typically bi-directional models as most uni-directional cables are USB-C source to DisplayPort display.

I choose the adapter cable above because of reviews documented for the comparable Dell U3225QE display.

Good luck!
