For what?
Cutting a pipe is the only thing I can think of.

Clean cuts on ground rod, reed bar, threaded rod, all pipes, and woods. I personally like to cuts bamboo. Provide cleaner cuts vs chainsaw, or pruning saw for projects.

I would love to have one but wouldn't use it enough to justify the price.

This one wouldn't be much at pruning due to the small space. I've got the larger version, though, and I really love it for removing larger branches. Clean cut with minimal potential to damage anything other than exactly what I intend to cut.
I have a hard time seeing where the small version is the preferred tool--the big one does everything the small one does without adding all that much to the saw. Unless you know you're only going to use it on small stuff it seems limiting.
