There are no locations in California, but I'm giving it a thumbs up so that more military and veterans can discover this deal. I believe that military and veteran-only deals don't receive much love around here.

Can I give it to my sisters family or should I accompany them as well?

You're suppose to accompany them, but they've never asked me for my ID. I've definitely had a name mismatched before and passed thru without any problems. Kids are very easy to get thru. Disney asks for an ID.

Nice. Does Disney or Universal studios honor vets like this?
Yes, I go into my local MWR office and they have discounted veterans tickets to both Universal and Disney, in both states for both places. I'm able to look at the prices on my MWR website before I go. Then I have to call to book an appointment. Sometimes it's cheaper on websites like ID me or GovX. Prices change all the time, so I keep checking throughout the year.

Are tickets cheaper through MWR than any other third party option?

The prices change all the time. The last trip we took last summer was the same exact price, to the penny. You can easily check on your computer or just call MWR recreation office and they will tell you the prices over the phone. Do you know what your local MWR office is? I can help you look for their spreadsheet. Some post them online.

Also I should mention that if you are retired or 100% disabled, you get a way bigger discount for Disney.

So I'm assuming the veteran has to be there when you go? Would love to take advantage but my FIL is at that point where he's too old to do anything but too stubborn to accept using a wheelchair.
From https://seaworld.com/orlando/tick...t/veterans
  • The veteran must be present with their guests.
  • Former service member must provide military ID at reception.
Last year I saw on the old Sea World site that this offer doesn't apply to Gold Star families because the veteran cannot be present. I'm a Gold Star spouse and even though I still have military benefits and ID.me approved free tickets, I don't want to take a chance on it. I've heard that they don't always check IDs, but I don't want to risk wasting time/money/$45 parking only to be turned away.

I'm guessing someone update the deal links because there are options for San Diego.
