I bought two of these when they first came out and think it is one of the best designs Cold Steel came out with. It is big enough to be practical without being too big. Just my opinion, but the original SRK was too thick and bulky. Sizing it down to the compact version made it the perfect size. CPM-3V is a huge step up from the original budget type SK-5 mine were made with.

Looks like a decent survival knife if you're not too worried about corrosion resistance and having to maintain the blade's edge.

Just keep it clean and put knife oil on it after use, such as Break Free CLP. Should be fine for a long time.

Wrong info in headline. The full size SRK is 6" blade, this is the compact (in dark earth color) with a 5" blade. I own multiple full size SRKs and love them, but haven;t tried a compact yet.
