This Moto G Stylus 5G 2024 bundle stands out as a full phone plus a year of Tracfone service, with the stylus model praised for its complete feature set, OLED display, 8GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, SD card slot, headphone jack, Qi charging, and solid performance. The annual plan is especially appealing for heavy Wi Fi users, backup phones, or keeping a second number active, and the included service alone is said to cost more than the deal price. The main catches are the one year unlock wait, Tracfone account transfer hassles, and limited minutes, texts, and data. It fits best as a low cost secondary line with useful hardware.

This is a great phone - It is my main one that I use with Visible. I bought mine unlocked from Motorola - the difference being that the storage is 256GB and not 128GB. However, Ebay's Verizon Value store has their two pack of Moto G Power 2024s for 10 bucks more that this deal and they are great phones. I recently took advantage it. You get two phones and two years of service for $90. The Moto G Power 24 is heavier than the Stylus 24, but I kind of like that. Anyway Verizon Value store has many great buys.
Do the 2 pack come with service for each , it say 1 year service but doesn't specify.

Bundles with 2 phones have always included service for each phone.

Yes, I can confirm that each phone comes with a preinstalled sim card and each gets its own year of service activation card.

Can you activate these online by chatting with an agent? Does imei/simcard/plan pin come printed somewhere on the box/in the box? Essentially can you activate it without turning it on?

G Power has IPS display not OLED, but these Moto models are pretty much disposables since with only 1 major update, they are pretty much done. People usually get them for the 1500 plans.

The Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 is also pretty decent for PS2 emulation and this still has SD card reader.

If anyone has a set of headphones that requires aptx adaptive to get the highest quality out of them FYI this phone supports aptx adaptive. None of the Samsung flagships or Google flagships do

My kid already has a Tracfone (same 1500 plan) which expires next month. Is there a way to buy this 2 pack and add it to the existing number for 2 yrs (3000 min/text/data)?

I have an external DAC from Fiio that supports APTX Adaptive. Does the phone need to support this format to fully utilize it or can my DAC communicate via Aptx Adaptive with any bluetooth phone?
EDIT: I did a bit more research and most Android phones (including Pixels) support LDAC Bluetooth format, which is better quality than Aptx Adaptive, no?

How does this compare to this deal?

https://slickdeals.net/f/19196065-metro-by-t-mobile-128gb-motorola-moto-g-stylus-2025-locked-30-days-service-55-no-port-in-required-free-s-h?src=SDSearchv3&attrsrc=Thread%3AExpired%3ATrue%7CSearch%3AType%3Aac_keyword%7CSearch%3ASort%3Arelevance%7CSearch%3AHideExpired%3Afalse

This deal shows expired but actually is still in effect, but now $65. This deal is for the 2025 model and should get 2 more android updates taking it to Android 17.

Still have to wait 1 year for unlock and if you only pay for the 1st month then obviously only 1 month of actual service compared to the 1 year of service provided under this deal.

For my purposes I plan on putting it in a drawer either way for the year.

What are your thoughts?
The 2025 version is a better deal if you don't care about the service included in either deal. I'd say if someone wants to try Tracfone or have a backup service active for some reason then that's a better deal. The 2025 is a fairly minor step up from the 2024, but it is a step up.

One thing to note - Metro has a very strict and unclear limit on how many free/discounted devices you can get. I got a 2025 G Stylus last August for $65, then got another one for $55 in Feb because I was trying to get the $30 tablet offer for existing customers. Well, I was unable to get the tablet order to go through after trying every combo of address, credit card, name, browser etc. I think I'm blocked from any device offers for an unknown period, perhaps forever. I would assume that tracfone on eBay doesn't have any such limitation (if you wanted 4-5 for your whole family). Just another thing to think about.

TF has never had a 6 month unlock. Verizon changed it from the previous 60 days to a year back in January.

Which is better for watching videos/movies/etc? The $90 Moto G Power 2024 deal or this $80 deal or a third budget option?

The Stylus 2024 has OLED while the Power 2024 has LCD I believe.
