Just used the x27 36" splitting axe last night. Best there is . ( for a normal homeowner) sure people get custom and high end splitting axe but even then they love these

Yeah, I wish I would have paid the extra for the 36". I bought the smaller 24" a few years ago on another deal and it just doesn't have the heft for single strike splits. I have to work hard to split logs and it's well worth the extra $ to minimize the effort.

I had that same X27 for 15 years before I moved. I cleared and spilt acres of cord wood with it. Now I use an X7 hatchet for opening coconuts almost daily. I like entire Fiskars line of axes.

I wish I was hacking away at coconuts vs chopping wood. One day I'll get there ! For now the wood willKeep me in shape until I can relax with some coconuts!!

I have this and it is my favorite axe (not that I have any others), it is short enough to chop roots of plants while kneeling and light enough to take camping. it is super strong too! Nothing bad to say about it.

Can't comment on the chopping axe, but the splitting axe is like MAGIC. I'd been using old axes & mauls my whole life and all-of-a-sudden I had a friend get the splitting axe and it was so nice I got one for myself. It does INCREDIBLY well on logs that are fairly clean, which is like 80% of them, but I still have to get out the heavy mauls & wedges for gnarly, nasty ones. I went and got the splitting maul, too. The light splitting axe saves me so much effort that it's not even funny. Since the other Fiskars splitters are doing so well for me, I gotta believe that the chopping axe is pretty good. I like the light handles, time will tell how durable they end up being. I miss a LOT less since the whole axe is so much lighter, so the handles take significantly fewer impacts.
