Yes, I have a few of the refurbished ones and they are all good. As long as the place that refurbished them is CyberPower you are usually good.

It's wild that the regular MSRP on a NEW unit used to be much less than this, but now this refurb is kind of a deal. Times are crazy.

I have an older version of this (LX1500GU3) and it works great. Picked it up from FB marketplace brand new for $50. Use it for my home server and PoE security cameras. Has actually kicked in a few times during power outages and there was no interruption to power of any of the devices connected to it.
I recommend check your local FB marketplace or offerup. People usually have these (previous versions) for sale on there for cheap. It shows the batter % on the screen, so you can just ask them to charge it to 100% and unplug it and if it stays at 100%, then it's good.

I noticed that some UPS emit a noticable high pitch frequency while on. Between APC and CyberPower, I noticed CyberPower models do it more than the former. Would anyone know if this particular model does that as well?

I recently bought a couple EcoFlow River 3 Plus power stations to use instead of traditional UPS's like these. I've always used a UPS for my sensitive equipment but the short backup times, along with the frequent expiration of the batteries have left me to try this power station alternative.

The refurbished EcoFlows are currently at a lower price than this on Ebay, and my thinking is, plugged into a cheap surge protector, I'll still get the basic UPS features with much longer backup time (hours instead of minutes) and longer expiration dates of batteries, up to 4 or 5 longer than a typical UPS lead battery.

Question for the experts here..... what am I not getting? Are there factors I am not considering? I have more backup need in the future and just trying these EcoFlows to see if this is the solution we will go for the rest of the equipment as the traditional UPS batteries expire.

I just compared this particular unit against the CST1500SUC (sold at Costco and on Woot Refurb), for me I think the CST1500SUC is better bang for the dollar. The USB-C port on the SUC is 30w vs 15w. However I cannot tell you the difference between PFC Sinewave and True Sinewave.

The CST1500SUC on woot is $159.99

Do you think they replace the batteries? I feel like saving $50 isn't worth a used battery if it has degraded more than 5-10%

I'm not an expert but am also an interested party in using power stations in place of old school UPS's made by APC and Cyberpower, etc.

My experience is merely reading A LOT on the subject and I'm left believing the two main and most important differences between power stations and UPS's are 1) power conditioning dealing with over and under voltages, dirty power and surge protection (as you mentioned) and 2) communication via USB so when the power fails the computer or NAS, etc can communicate with the power station to know if and when to safely power down so when the battery dies the computer or NAS doesn't suddenly lose power as if the plug was pulled out of the wall. I thought I once read someone mention a particular model of power station has a USB port for communicating however there were issues because computers today have the drivers or ability to communicate built in compatible with APC and Cyberpower, etc, but not power stations.

I have been using the combination of power station and a small UPS for three years.
The UPS is a small old one, but has a USB port to notify my NAS. So when power is off, my NAS will get notified and gracefully shutdown, and can automatically back online when power is resumed.
The rest equip, like modem/router, POE switch, are backed by power station. They can stay on until power station is out.

I'm doing the same. I snagged an Amazon Basics 800VA/450W UPS for $55 back in January and I think someone said its just rebranded APC. I have my Mac Mini, monitor and router/modem plugged into it and it's plugged into a Bluetti 30 V2 which has 288Wh. I've only used it once and I think I ran the Mac and monitor for 90 mins then shut them down and it still had more than 50% left which it said would run my router/modem for another 3 hours. I didn't get that far because the power came back in about 90 mins later.
