I have both as we realized 30 will work better for us. They are the same size, 30qt is just taller.
23qt is popular as it fits well in Tesla Y sub-trunk 😉

The only negative is you pretty much have to keep it powered. Once you turn off power, you basically have a few hours before the temperature spikes too high to be temperature safe for stuff that needs fridge temps or lower, more or less depending on how often you open it up to get stuff out and if it was keeping frozen food or just chilled food.

Also, while it's powered, putting new, room temperature or warmer food into it will spike the temperature up almost immediately as the machine now has to cool down the new food. I use mine as a beverage cooler and I notice that if it was half to 2/3 full of drinks and keeping a running 40F temp, adding new drinks to fully fill the cooler up will spike the temperature to 55+ F within minutes, and it takes an hour to get it back down to 40F. You basically don't have the same residual bulk cooling mass that a bag of ice provides, but you also don't have the negatives of the ice.

This is a great fridge I've had a similar one for abt 4 years. I use it multiple times a year for camping and road trips and sometimes in the car with a power station for big shopping days. Never has a problem with it.

is not the 30 quart a better option? Wonder why the 23 quart is more popular.

Nice deal.

Keep it out of the direct sunlight & well ventilated to cool properly.

I bought this few years back for $250. Works well to this day. No issues at all, just make sure to ventilate it and wash it when not using

Would this work well in the bed of a truck with a bed cover? No direct sunlight, but high ambient temps

I'm in Houston. We see extreme heats throughout summer. These do okay in that? Or is it more a thing you bring in and out depending on use?

I have this fridge, bought it last summer when it was on sale for $152, very quiet, pretty much silent and really cools down to freezer temps if you need it to, but I use it as a drink fridge.
