Honestly this one is awful - they changed the pod design so they could patent it and charge more. You're better off buying the older model since there are way more options for cheaper pods

Are you just referring to the Vertuo machines compared to the original Nespressos? I've used both and prefer the Vertuo due to the ability to make much bigger cups and thicker crema. I bought a bunch of pods initially but saved and have been reusing and refilling them myself with whatever coffee I want to grind. Just need to replace the foil each time. Love the damned thing. Have been using a very similar machine to this one for years now and the thing is a workhorse.

Of course they charge more and created a proprietary pod but the unique thing is it spins to create foam

The patent expires in 2030. Great machine, good-tasting coffee, just overpriced pods.

Does that mean we'll get cheaper, generic pods in 2030? 👏🏻

I HAD to get one of these after trying a coworker's machine. I thought it was just a different brand to make K-Cup coffee- but the vertuo pods make delicious, frothy coffee. I was really surprised.. I don't even need creamer with it, it's already creamy. Yes, the pods are expensive. It's my treat to myself.

Yes, so at that point Nespresso will probably release a new type of machine or barcode system. Ordering Vertuo pods is such a luxury compared to getting K-Cups. It adds up too quickly and I'd have to spend $100+/month to meet my caffeine needs.

You can get the occasional Woot! deal here which drops the price to about $1 per pod. That's about as cheap as it gets. The coffee is really excellent, and can't be compared with K-Cup coffee, which is garbage.

I have both classic and vertuo and i agree and disagree, the design change sucks, BUT its better IF you want to recycle your own pods and grind your own coffee use your own coffee it works amazing so you only need to buy the pods 1 time like a pack and since they are aluminum you can easily clean and reuse them over and over and over and over again. The classic you cant reuse those or reseal those because they get pierced and no matter what grind size i use it does not taste the same. Just food for though

Honestly not all vertuo machines are good but some are just make sure, its worth if you reuse your own pods but you need a grinder that can match the grinds and just get the resealing pack from amazon with the lil plastic set, to fill and tamp, its worth
