Castle on ABC

Anyone else watch this?

Unfortunately I missed last week's episode, so last night's didn't quite explain itself and left me lost for a little bit. It was still pretty good though.

I haven't seen many episodes (only started watching about a month ago) but I think it's a pretty good show.

It's sorta like NCIS, without the Navy: pretty bizarre murders that take a somewhat predictable turn and then magically get solved before the episode ends.

This show is becoming too predictable, not that I don't enjoy it. I knew it right away that the chef's quasi-brother was the one who killed him. Cool

Beckett's blonde classmate is pretty hot. I hope she gets a recurring role like the way Beckett's boy toy has (the detective dude), but I doubt it. Frown

Awesome, thanks for confirming! That's breaks the jinx of many of my other shows being canceled or ending, such as "Lost", "24", "Numb3rs", and possibly "Chuck" and "Human Target" (not sure of those 2 shows' status).
ABC is a bit better than FOX and NBC in this regard. They give their shows a chance.

Other than "Lost", I rarely watched ABC until "Castle" came along. I only watch these 2 shows on ABC.

FOX gets most of my viewing time, followed by NBC. Since CBS canceled "Numb3rs", I don't think there's much I'll be watching there.

I don't love ABC but you can see them give their shows a chance. Their sitcoms this season aren't great (modern family is ok), but all of them are getting a fair shake.

CBS still has a great monday night lineup. I never miss an episode of HIMYM.

My Mondays are booked with "Chuck", "24", and "Castle". But at least 1 and maybe 2 of those shows will be canceled by next year. Frown

I was planning on watching "Modern Family", mostly b/c Al Bundy stars in it, but I just never got around to DVR'ing it.

From what I understand Castle was already renewed for a third season.

Castle will stick around for awhile, it's a great balance between cop drama and comedy. Finally Nate Fillion is getting some recognition for the great work he's been doing for a long time.

Since we got a Tivo years ago, I have no idea what channels any of our shows are on and only a vague idea as to which hour they air on. Gotta love Tivo as it makes everything so painless. I don't even watch the new shows coming out. Just read the previews for the plot and who's in them and set up a wish list for the shows that sound intriguing. I already have some fall shows lined up.

Worthy Tivo

laugh out loud

Iagree Nathan Fillion is brilliant and the chemistry he has with Stana Katic is awesome. They meld well with characters.

Castle is on for a 3rd season.

I'm getting worried though that the repetitiveness of the show might be its downfall. It's essentiall NCIS without the Navy/Marines being involved.

How many murder mystery shows can there be on TV? You've got CSI, L&O (I think, I don't watch it), NCIS, NCIS LA, Castle, Happy Town, and those are just the ones I can think of.

Yes, "Castle" has a good mix of comedy, drama, "whodunit", action, etc. (Although the "whodunit" is becoming a bit predictable lately.) I know that once Castle and Beckett start going out, the show will be cursed and will probably lead to its demise. ABC knows this, too, so I bet they'll continue playing up the sexual tension between the 2 of them but not make them officially an item.

That reminds me, I had to LOL when one detective dude joked about Castle bringing coffee for Beckett every morning to spend time w/ her and then the other detective dude gave him the stink eye. laugh out loud

"Numb3rs" would be in that category, but they were canceled. They lasted for several (6?) seasons, so I can't act like I'm shocked, but it's still disappointing. Sadwalk

I think they're gonna throw a hook now and then to keep it interesting. Last year they toyed with Beckett's mother's death. This year they're playing up the sexual tension. I don't think they'll ever put them together, although maybe they'll have them have sex or something without actually becoming a couple.

This was a pretty good episode I thought.

It was a twist I didn't see coming, although I wasn't exactly following the show intently.

The ending wasn't exactly expected... They're really playing up the sexual tension between the two.

Yeah, I enjoyed it. I knew for sure the murderer (or murdere LOL) was one of those 2 people, but Beckett found out it was both of them. Also, the sexual tension is over - Beckett has made her pick and it's the bigger, stronger, and younger guy. Sorry, Castle. Tongue He should've kept that hot actress from a few episodes ago.

I made the comment in the "24" thread that This chick [imdb.com], who was the female murderer in last night's show, was on "24" in the previous hour. It's one of the rare times I saw an actor or actress on 2 different channels on consecutive hours. EEK!
