What's so good about it? Other than resolution and color gamut? I'm sure contrast is garbage, same with viewing angles.

What's not good about it? 6K resolution. Thunderbolt connectivity. Decent screen size. Decent color gamut. Great viewing angles. It has HDR.

It's almost like you didn't read any of the specs.

As I'm not a Mac user, I was unaware of that. TIL! Thank you for contributing useful information to the conversation.

60hz, not oled, and too small for 6k. Can grab a 42" 4k LG oled with 144hz for this price. Makes no sense

Makes no sense...for you. Different people have different wants and needs.

I recently bought this monitor and love it (especially for the price) but you will need a third party app to do this. Asus makes one that is free but not great. BetterDisplay is paid but makes it behave exactly like you'd want. I would highly recommend buying that app to go with it.

It's a good deal. Amazon's policy regarding post purchase price adjustments (as in: we don't, just return it) piss me off, though. I bought this about a one month ago at $1,100. So, returning it. Since it was an impulse purchase, won't be buying another one right now. It's a gorgeous productivity monitor, though.

Here's hoping the cost of the return shipping plus the restocking labor costs Amazon more than $100.

Really, that's just silly to need a 3rd party app. I had the 6k Apple display and that was one feature I really liked about it. I sold it because the glare was too much and someone offered me nearly what I paid so I figured I could get something else. I'm really tempted by this one. Amazon reviews look like quality control is not great, and there's some issues that show up soon after buying it, but to be fair people said that about the apple display as well. That plus glare are my two concerns holding me back from buying it right now.

It is silly but the way I look at it is that $22 is a small price to pay compared to a first party Apple monitor. 🤷🏻

If I were you, I would pull the trigger and then start a return after it arrives. As long as you start the return, you have extra time to decide whether or not this monitor is for you. It does have a matte finish so you'll like it. I just upgraded from a 27" 5K Ultrafine and I'm happy but I would prefer a glossy display rather than a matte one. Unfortunately all of the affordable options are matte.

If you enable HDR, then you can adjust the brightness through system menu bar "control center", but keyboard F1 F2 always go to laptop brightness.
