Sears? I did realize any of them were still open? We had 4 in town at one time and now we have none. Wonder who makes these as Stanley Black Decker own and make all Craftsman at Lowe's, Ace, etc.

I was curious too, we had many out here in Western WA. Here is a copy/paste from Google AI Overview. Believe they still operate online under other ownership.

As of early 2026, only five full-line Sears department stores remain open in the United States. Following years of closures and bankruptcy, these final locations are located in:

Braintree, Massachusetts (South Shore Plaza)
Concord, California (Sun Valley Shopping Center)
El Paso, Texas (Cielo Vista Mall)
Orlando, Florida (The Florida Mall)
Coral Gables, Florida (Standalone location)

These remaining stores often operate with limited inventory and have uncertain futures.

There are more ACE stores now than there were Sears stores back in the day.

Then add in all the Lowes, Tractor Supply, NAPA Auto and ACME stores....and you have a lot more local stores to exchange your Craftsman tools than ever.

This still feels expensive but I don't use a lot of wrenches so maybe it's a good deal for folks who do.

These things are a waste. Trust me, you will never use the short stubby wrenches unless you plan on trying to shortcut something, and are okay with effing something up in that process.

I am curious who makes these as stated because part of the original deal with SBD after the takeover. Sears was able to still make their own tools and sell within their stores for a set amount of years. A few years later Sears closed down majority of remaining stores (all 4 in my town) and I haven't shopped Craftsman since except for at Lowe's where they are made by SBD. Since these have nearly the exact same holding case of my Gearwrench Ratchting wrenches purchased years ago, I imagine Gearwrench makes these for Sears and rebrands them?

Gearwrench has made other Craftsman tools in the past, so it's certainly possible.
