I have something similar, you get what you pay for. I use it to store my mower and a couple of yard tools. I built a pressure treated platform. It keeps them out of the rain.

It still annoys me that they can get away with calling this 4 foot deep when its 10" short.

I bought almost the exact same shed on alixespress for $110 a few weeks ago. I would definitely say that the build quality is at bare minimum, but that's the expectation for a product this cheap. It functions just fine as a rain cover for my outdoor tools/supplies, so it really doesn't matter to me. Building it was also a bit of a pain just due to the sheer number of screws that need to be used.

Reading through the Amazon reviews, the 1 star reviews make it seems like it's a real hit or miss on quality control here. I'm not sure that's worth the low cost.

Probably better off going with a few boxes of this [amazon.com] and some sticks.

This looks like it doesn't have bottom. I really ranted to build one around my pool equipment but I don't think this is really a good quality one. Does anyone have any ideas?

They sell a base to go with it for structural support. But you still need a foundation. You can pour concrete, use bricks, or a wooden platform. To keep it out of the water and rain and to affix it to. Something like this might come with missing parts or misaligned pre-drilled holes, it will be a pain in the ass to build. But you get what you pay for

These metal ones are so cheap, has anyone ever considered buying 2 and laminating them and doulbling up the reinforcements i.e., make 2 crappy units into 1 decent unit?

Requires 13,000 screws. Only 12,997 in the parts bag.

But seriously, these metal sheds are tedious to put together.

I was tempted at first glance but, damn... Those low-star reviews are brutal. Hard pass

I hate building these sheds because of how long they take to put together and how flimsy they are. The one time it actually made sense was to shield equipment plumbed out of the ground on a concrete pad. The plastic ones i would normally recommend are dependent on the base so not a good option for you. So flimsy but low cost but suitable for pool equipment i think.

I think every other shed type would be easier to merge 2 into 1 than this sort of metal shed. Also bigger ones are usually cheaper for the same total sq ft.

Make sure to check with your HOA before putting one up - only to find out they have limitations on wood-only sheds. HOAs stink.
