I've had a 450 rancher for eight years. I let the bar rust up and have never changed any of the fuel lines or parts. The thing still starts up on the first or second pull.
does it leak bar oil if you let it sit?

No stock locally and costs $79 for shipping. Couldn't find away around that. Would have been a great deal otherwise.

This is a great deal. I'm holding out for a deal on Echo Timberwolf though. Repped.
I have had the Timberwolf for 5 or 6 years and it's an exceptional saw. I would take it over any other saw in its price range. It always starts and it's got low end torque vs all the other high strung stuff. It reminds me of my dad's ancient Stihl 026. It cuts fast and straight and doesn't burn up blades.

This is a great chainsaw. Mine is refurbished one from 16 years ago and still running strong.

Bought today had a big oak pieced down that I cut up, no problem ripping the big logs after cutting to length. Starts like a charm, I'm a stihl guy so the chain setup is a bit different. Holds a lot of bar oil which is nice. Starting procedure is different, warm start pull choke out and push back in before pulling starts it at high idle pretty slick once I learned the saw. Selling my smaller saw now because this saw fits a lot of uses

There aren't any leaks yet. I use vegetable oil for the bar.

Very good deal.
I'm not sure if they're out yet, but I saw a youtuber demo'ing husqvarna's new fuel injected saws shortly after I got a 450 in December.
The auto-tuned fuel injection has been available in the upper 500 series for a while. It's finicky though and is not a simple adjustment with knockoff Chinese carb screwdrivers from Amazon when they need work.

Is this Swedish made, or some rebranded MTD type machine?
Husqvarna makes their own saws, non re-brands. The upper 400 series may be made at one of their factories in USA, Sweeden, or Brazil. I've seen all three. The lower 100 & 200 series are made in China (still at a Husqvarna factory).

Yes. All chainsaws (including Husqvarna semi-professional 400 series) leak bar oil as they sit if they're putting out enough oil to the bar to be useful. All of my large saws are in plastic cases like this one:

Other thoughts:
• Be sure to only use real bar & chain oil in the reservoir. It's plain oil without any additives (like motor oil has). Use of anything else may damage the tubing/ seals that connect the tank to the bar outlet and will void the warranty (they check).
• Also, only use ethanol-free fuel. Ethanol related damage is not covered under warranty. They check that too--really anything that might avoid paying a warranty claim.
• If that didn't scare you off, Husqvarna offers an extended 5-year consumer warranty if you buy a short gallon of their overpriced, branded pre-mixed fuel on the same receipt at your tool. https://www.husqvarna.com/us/disc...-warranty/
• An air compressor does a great job of cleaning the bar, chain, and chain brake.
• It's been my experience that Husqvarnas are very easy to get parts for and work on when needed. They're meant to be cared for, used and serviced for decades, not disposed of and replaced every time something goes wrong like a "value" brand.

Good to know. I got a Husqvarna string trimmer from Lowe's at one point and it was a MTD rebrand. Same for the Husqvarna branded push mowers, it was identical to a Craftsman I saw elsewhere, another MTD rebrand. So I'm cautious these days.
