The DeWalt is a 15 amp motor while the Skil is 13 amp. The DeWalt can hold a larger dado stack and also has a blade brake. Here's a side by side comparison for the 10" models from both Skil and DeWalt: https://youtu.be/TWKmv40aGXs?si=TBY6egaa3WtG7t6h

Is there any reason to get a dewalt over this one? Anything dewalt does better? I'm planning to use it for random projects around the house.

10" with legs has a coupon on Amazon for me making it $296.10. Not a huge savings and far from the cheapest it's been, but I bought one a few weeks back for $300 and it's a surprisingly solid setup for the price. It's not exactly light, but it's less than 50 pounds so it can be moved around by a single person. The legs are easy to fold out and collapse and are very stable. Took about 30 minutes to set it up and after that it was ready to start cutting. Has storage on the saw for all of the accessories that are included, so keeping up with everything is easy as long as you remember to stow it all away when you're ready to pack it up.

I'm sure I could have made do with this one, also. Looks like it's pretty much the same package just without the included legs. For $120 less I'd have been just fine. I wanted to splurge for the Milwaukee but then I saw the Skil for less than half the price with very solid ratings and decided cordless wasn't worth the extra cost, in this case. Wish I'd been able to get this deal at the time as this one would be just fine for me, but having the legs included on the 10" model is pretty nice since I don't have a table for it.

That's 10 inch. It looks like 8 inch versions are different in some ways. I looked briefly and the 8 inch Dewalt doesn't take dado stacks at all while this Skil does. I wish this 8 inch saw had legs like the big brother.

The manual says not to use dado blades and the threaded bolt the blade goes on is shorter than the 10" and probably not safe for most dado sets. However, I use this set (below) and it fits fine (plenty of threads showing). I use it all the time to cut lap joints and box joints. It's much better than using a regular blade a hundred cuts and cleaning it out manually.

Yeah, 10" is 15 amp. I got it 2 years ago for $270 as well. It's in the description, but worth re-iterating. For $180, you get rack and pinion fence. If this were available then, would've gotten this, and not feel burdened buying a $75 miter gauge. I actually got a Vevor 24" miter gauge for $50, few months ago from Amazon. Rack and pinion fence, better miter gauge, I'm finally cutting straight and square.

Not exactly an apples to apples comparison and off-topic as this skil is 8.25" version. Dewalt has a 8.25" saw and 10" version.

Looking at the parts lists it seems the 13A ts6328 is in fact the same as the 15A ts6308
