Ordered one through the Walmart app and it got cancelled almost immediately.

"We're sorry, your order was flagged due to a violation of our Terms of Use, so we had to cancel."

I don't think I've ordered any phone through Walmart before. I do have a Tracfone I ordered recently through Amazon using the same email address

Also, I can't get the Walmart site to work on my Win 11 PC, no matter which browser I use. When I get to the page with the cart I just get a spinning wheel.
Are you using a vpn? I know sometimes I forget to turn mine off, and some sites don't load properly.

Moved my last family member off Tracfone last month -- my dad, moved to RedPocket's $30/year unlimited talk plan. He only talks, does not know how to use data. Verizon's towers are not ideal, and with RedPocket I could get him back on AT&T.

since this phone comes with 1 year service, wouldn't the lock/unlocking of the phone NOT be an issue?

Great deal for someone who isn't addicted to a cellphone and doesn't let it control every aspect of their live.

Bundled plans have always qualified in the past but no one will know exactly how the new policy will work until after Jan 20, 2027.
Be aware this phone is older (was released March 2024) and has been replaced by newer versions. By the time this qualifies for unlocking it will be way out of date (it only updates to Android 15). IMO, deal is worth it for the service time but phone isn't the best for long term use.

Thanks for the reply. I'm not using a VPN. Some of the browsers I use - like Opera - have their own VPNs, but Edge and Chrome don't. All have the same issue with Walmart. Amazon and other sites are just fine.

I also have some weirdness with Yahoo Mail, which is super slow sometimes.

Yahoo Mail is fine on my phone though.

The new policy (it's on the TF website) says unlock has to be requested, it's no longer automatic.
With TF brands you can't just assume that because it worked a certain way before it will continue to be the same - always read the policy yourself.

Cheapest alternative to stream music from sd card and spotify to a BT speaker? Don't have an old phone lying around?

That is odd. I hope you find a solution.

It kind of looks like Motorola did another switcharoo with the 2025 model (like they did back in 2021 or whenever that was) and put a lower powered CPU in the 2025 compared to the 2024 version. The 2024 says it has the Dimensity 7020 while the 2025/2026 have a Dimensity 6300.
The switcheroo seems really stupid.

If you have to request unlock after one year, by then, the 1st year introductory plan will be over. Will they accept an unlock request from an expired no-longer-a-customer?

This deal, if you are looking for an unlocked phone, could have complications. Not a slam dunk like it was apparently in the past.

It used to work that way - but with the unlock policy change no one will know if they will require another month. Website doesn't say you have to be an active customer just meet the requirements so technically it should be OK.
I just think this model is too old to be concerned about unlocking (will be 3 yrs old by then), get something with longer updates.
