sorry for the dumb question, new to this Smilie So I can get this phone for $49.88 plus tax. It comes with 1 year of service, but I have to wait one year to unlock. Is that right?

If so, do they do any weird stuff wher they unlock at 1 year + 1 day? Meaning I have to re-up for the 2nd year before unlock?
Be aware that the allowances 1500/1500/1.5 are good for a year but they don't renew monthly, that's all you get. Good for someone that uses the phone for a backup so you should expect to have to buy more at some point if you run out.

I knew it was for the full year, but I'm kind of curious if their texts (and perhaps when I finally decide to reply STOP) counts towards their limit. As AT&T's calls theirs a "free msg" when you receive it. Although I didn't think I will use the 1500/100/1.5 but some day I might need it as a backup. EDIT: And presumably wait for it to unlock, but the keyboard feel is kinda iffy out the gate that reminds me why I don't use my fire10 much even after "fixing" it to run android apps.

Most people use RCS these days which don't count toward text limit, but does toward data.

People always ask how long a phone will be unlocked before jump in. After hearing one year, most of them probably turn away.

I read somewhere that Tracfone or maybe Straighttalk phones also work with using a Visible sim? Anyone do this?
I have an older moto tracfone through straight talk I still use. This was not whitelisted for anything other than verizon even through it has the bands for other carriers. I still use it and switched from red pocket to USmobile (their $199/yr unlimited promo). I was a long time red pocket user but they kept screwing around their plans and re-up conditions. US Mobile is a pleasure to worth with compared to RP.

My other newer moto is on a $10/mo 2gb with USmobile and on ATT dark star. I'll eventually switch that to the Verizon since ATT gets pretty bad reception here.

I wish moto had more than 2 OS updates. It makes them such a landfill issue.

I think it's both. As this should have a sim tray for when it unlocks after a year. Personally a bunch of apps told me my android was too old to be supported for why I upgraded to this.

Ordered one through the Walmart app and it got cancelled almost immediately.

"We're sorry, your order was flagged due to a violation of our Terms of Use, so we had to cancel."

I don't think I've ordered any phone through Walmart before. I do have a Tracfone I ordered recently through Amazon using the same email address

Also, I can't get the Walmart site to work on my Win 11 PC, no matter which browser I use. When I get to the page with the cart I just get a spinning wheel.
Go into your browser settings and delete any cookies for walmart. Also, if you have ad blockers, that can be a thing.

I use this phone as my main phone and have had Tracfone for more than 10 years. Yep, I'm cheap, this works for me good and well enough. I buy a package deal like this once a year as my service date is about to expire. Paying less than $100 a year for an ew phone and a year of service and no contracts or monthly bills—I'll take it.

Thanks nice to know. I just canceled Frontier and switched to Spectrum to get the FREE S26 plus but sure hated to. Frontier bill for 500/500 was 29.99 and Spectrum is $10 more a month but does have 1 phone line free for a year. Keeping my tracfone active tho as it's paid up into 2029 and I never run out of minutes/txt just run out of the year. The deal that Spectrum had was unreal. S26 plus for tax only and with immediate discount and immediate trade in all you owed was the sales tax and walking out with a completely paid off phone.

I will be back to Frontier once the phones get unlocked (60 days supposedly).

Sure can't beat the price of Frontier and then $15 off a month on internet for linking a phone service. Frontier offered me the 29.99 and a 3 yr price grantee but you need to call them and talk to retention to get that---that happened a day before I found the Spectrum deal.

I also have a $129 CB pending so that sweetened the deal. Make sure if your switching internet--look at those CB sites.
