I have a Tracfone service on my own device for the next one year. can they rebrand the stylus with Tracfone? so that I can unlock the stylus after 12 months of usage on Tracfone? If so, this makes it deal for me

What you describe is what I've read about Metro phones. This is Total Wireless. Are you saying that Total has the same unlock policy?

I had a total wireless device before that date and I needed 60 days of total service (doesnt have to be consecutive). I forgot to mention you can get the 10$ monthly plan they offer but it is only text and call. No data.

I thought it was just paid active service with one of Verizon's value brands. You can convert Total Wireless and Straight Talk phones to Tracfones without unlocking them and the service works. You literally transfer your tracfone number to the sim inside the ST or TW phone. Are you saying even with paid active service it doesn't matter bc it's not new TW service?

Tracfone changed the policy recently from Feb 2026. We are not sure if 365 days of "paid" service needed or just 365 days since the activation. Nobody knows for sure until Feb 2027 on how it works. I don't mean to go against you but just want to clarify the information

The TW Stylus can be rebranded to use with TF, but you still have to add at least one year of PAID service to get it unlocked after 12 months. Effective with the unlocking policy implented on 1/20/26, service transferred from your current phone doesn't count as paid service for unlocking purpose.

"Paid active service" got changed to "Paid and active service". I feel like that's the same thing. But contact total wireless or tracfone to totally confirm it.

For all cellphones Activated on the Verizon network on or before January 19, 2026, the cellphone will be remotely unlocked automatically 60 days after paid Activation and 60 days of paid active service.
For all cellphones Activated on or after January 20, 2026, the cellphone will be unlocked upon request after 365 days of paid and active service.
